Classic room, clean and comfy. Nothing extraordinary but faultless. We booked a package DBB and it was exceptional value for money. Dinner excellent, breakfast excellent. If only 1 criticism, instead of charging for the veg crisp appetisers, these should be complementary when guests get drinks, that would be a better touch. Also, don't add a charitable donation yo the bill...

We stayed at the wild boar inn for 3 nights just after new year ,on arrival we were given room 16 which we thought was adequate for our stay it was clean and well presented but unfortunately the lock to the room broke so we were moved to room 6 , again an ok room but it is right at...

Close to Bowness, this old hunting lodge offers a lot of warmth and comfort for Lake District explorers with an extremely good chef. Very good customer service and well appointed guest rooms. Comfy beds in rooms with character. The hotel has its own smoker attached and I recommend the wild boar steak for dinner and the smoked haddock for breakfast.

We have just visited for 1 night for my boyfriends birthday, upon arrival our room was upgraded to a feature room which was absolutely lovely inside, can not fault it. We had a meal in the smoke house in the evening which again was absolutely lovely and the same applies to breakfast the next morning. Will be revisiting and would...

We really wanted this review to be so much better because of the things we had heard about the Wild Boar but sadly, we could not rate it more than average overall; because of the room we were given (Room 20 -detail below) and the varied level of service from the staff. We toyed with complaining about the room when...

Planning our next visit already! Check in was quick & easy, our room was huge & well appointed, but the best part is the lounge, bar & restaurant area. Sitting in front of the log burner, having a few of the brewed on site ales on a cold autumn afternoon here was perfect, followed by a delicious meal. Cooked breakfast...
