We arrived at the Windermere train station exhausted after a 25-hour journey from the States. It was a very easy walk to the Elleroy, even while pulling our suitcases. We were a tad early for check-in but were allowed to leave our luggage at the bar so we could have a look around the town. Our room was very clean...

Popped into the Elleray after a lovely walk up Orrest Head and sampled a good selection of ales in a comfortable environment.staff were friendly and the premises has original features, giving it a 'lakes' character. Will pop in again next time, hopefully soon. i think it has an outside area too, but we didn't actually see that. There were menus...

My partner and I stayed with our 6 year old here for one night in April when visiting Windermere. When we arrived we checked in via the people on the bar and were shown to our room, which was a decent sized family room with a good sized bathroom. Good points: The room itself was clean and a good size. Location...

Got a great seat on the sofas next to the log fire, and enjoyed a few local ales here. Loweswater Gold was my favourite. A very well kept and clean bar area, and helpful bar staff, who advised well on the drinks.

This hotel was booked by my daughter for two nights as a birthday present. It is located in the village of Windermere about a mile and a half from the lake. The hotel / pub boasts five real local ales. Food is available in the bar or you can use the restaurant (same menu). The full English breakfast is lovely...

I was on a day trip to Windermere. Was looking for a place to eat but this place had no food on. To be fair they said they were refurbishing the kitchens and it was well out of season. After eating somewhere else I went back in for drink. A few good real ales on but only had time to...

A quiet hotel just off the main street. Went in just for a drink and we were greeted by a very friendly bar lady. The food on offer at lunchtime was all at £5 and it looked good with ample portions. The hotel is a tad dated but quaint. Will go there for a meal the next time we are...

Arrived as a family of 3 for a nights stay to be greeted by a rude man who showed us to our room. The room was ok but had a very unpleasant strong smell throughout duration of stay. There was no hot water at all throughout our entire stay but the worst was still to come. Upon awakening for breakfast...

It was average for a hotel, there were good and bad points to the stay. The good: -was in a good location as central to Windermere and close walk to Bowness on Windermere, close to the station, with access to buses and trains to other places. -the rooms were small but cosy so perfect after a long day walking. -the...
