Rang ahead to book quiet room at back of hotel, overlooking the pond and not the front over the car park. Guess what we got! So listened to cars and people come and go throughout our stay. I had booked one of the 'crafted' rooms and asked for no feathers (allergy) so we couldn't just ask to change rooms not...

A lovely hotel for anyone travelling to or from Scotland; you wont believe that you're just off the M6 as its so quiet and in a lovely rural setting with fantastic views from all sides. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and with lovely furnishings, throws, tweeds & fabrics giving an overall feel of comfort and luxury with extremely comfortable beds....

PERFECT for a stopover to and from Scotland, I will always plan my trips around this hotel, and recommend to everyone! Easy to find, close to motorway but completely quiet, clean and smart, spacious and very friendly. Lovely, mostly local, food for dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. A spacious open lounge, with a log fire and sofas and board...

The room was lovely and clean. Biscuits topped up daily. The food was lovely and the location it was so quiet. We also liked the fact they accept dogs in the cheaper rooms and made no fuss as our puppy made quite a mess with biscuits crumbs. The bed, pillows were extremely comfortable

This hotel is ideally situated as it adjoins the M6 North bound. The services alone are not your normal motorway services, they are privately owned as is the hotel. The hotel is spacious and the bedrooms are beautifully equipped with locally made curtains and tasteful furnishings. Fresh milk is made available for bedroom tea and coffee. The food is delicious...

The resturant with huge glass windows was excellent, great food and very good quality of food. The breakfast was all local produce and a good variety on the menu. The bedroom was very nicely furnished with tea and fresh coffee...

We stayed one night here on our way up to Scotland. We stayed in a classic room with the bunk beds hidden behind doors. My 3 year old loved her bed (and trying to find it when we got there. The food both in the bar and for breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend....

My husband and I stayed here, with our dog, to break the journey back from Scotland. The welcome, furnishings, service and food are that of a very good hotel, not just the ones you normally find at motorway services. Rooms are a good size and some are dog- friendly. Dinner choices are in the restaurant or a bar menu. We...
