We had a very pleasant stay at the Blue Swallow Guest House, it was lovely and clean and nicely furnished and Peter & Cynthia were very lovely. We had a delicious cooked breakfast, with toast and home made jam and marmalade! My husband, 10 yr old son and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Easy to find even with all the building work going on in the town centre. Very friendly host and hostess, spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed. Room well stocked with tea and coffee. Excellent breakfast...even for me as a Coeliac. Thank you!!

This is an excellent, homely B&B which offers outstanding value for money. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the breakfast is freshly cooked and plentiful. Peter & Cynthia are excellent hosts. There is limited very secure parking at the rear of the property. Would definitely stay again.

We had a one night stopover in this B&B on our way to Edinburgh. The hosts were very friendly, and made us feel very welcome. There is no lift in the house, but the host helped us carry the luggage to our room. The B&B had a good location, only a 5 minutes walk from Penrith city center. We stayed... More

Stayed here with friends for one night at the beginning of August after doing the total warrior event nearby. Upon arrival we parked the car for free on the road outside (you'll be given a disc) and we received a warm welcome at the B&B by Peter. We were shown to our rooms and were all pleasantly surprised. Each room... More

I stayed over with friends for one night while doing the C2C Bike ride and this place was ideal. Rooms were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast very nice, just what I needed for the energy. Owners very friendly and only to willing to help in any way they could. Would definitely stay again.

I used the Blue Swallow as a stopover on the C2C ride and was made to feel really welcome, with secure storage for my bike. My room was clean and comfortable and Peter was helpful with options for eating out locally. Good selection of cereals/fruit salad and the full-English was very decent.

We stayed here on a stopover on a C2C ride. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. Feather pillows, cotton sheets, kettle, electric shower - everything you need. Our hosts were super hospitable - organised a meal for 11 hungry cyclists at very short notice on a Saturday night. Breakfast was just fantastic - a full English and home-made... More

Welcoming and informative hosts, cute room, excellent breakfast. I only used it as a stopping point to break up a journey between Manchester and western Dumfries and Galloway, but would absolutely stay again.
