What a perfect spot to explore the North Lakes. Barton Hall is our accommodation of choice, where we can relax in spacious rooms and beautiful surroundings. The guest kitchen is perfect for making up picnics to take up the fells, and the beautiful sitting room with roaring fire a most welcoming end to a day's walking. Highly recommended.

Our walking group has been returning to the Hall for over 12 years: drawn back by the cosy fire, beautiful period rooms and fabulous views across Lakeland countryside. We prefer to self-cater; using the guest kitchen to prepare both breakfast and evening meals. Welcomes children and families

After a long drive from Kent. We arrived a little tired but overwhelmed with the welcome we received from our Host.A freshly baked Carrot cake to have with a cup of tea.A good start for us all.The property was sublime with a Christmas tree and log fire ready to go.The Cottage was well equipped and as our stay was over...

we were a family of four and had the dorm room in the attic with one double and two single beds. The bathroom across the hall was spacious and everything was very clean. The lady of the house was very attentive and served a la carte breakfasts each day. Lovely veg garden for our children to explore.

Was always great to have the warmth and comfort of the gorgeous drawing room and 4 poster beds but be able to feed the children and bath them before sitting down to eat ourselves in the...

Looked for somewhere to stay for a night at Pooley Bridge and the B&B's in the centre of town were all charging around £100 per night. Spotted this place and it was £30 per person per night for a dormer room and £45 for a room with a four poster bed. We booked up and arrived early at 11:30am. You...

Ailsa and her team just couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. The house and rooms are just stunning. We will definitely be back next year. Thank you so much for everything you did. Ailsa stayed up till gone midnight to let us in as we'd had problems on the M6 with our boat. She is wonderful.
