Lovely staff, went out of their way to help with getting the bags to the room, breakfasts brilliant, we weren't hungry again until night time and the fresh fruit display had everything I could want. The room we had was very clean, and I do mean very clean, with such a comfy bed we slept well. I only have one...

We visited here on Sunday 7th May 2017. As we were a large group we had prebooked the meals in advance. We found one member of staff to be extremley rude and unprofessional in his manner imparticular with one member of our group. The Sunday lunch was cold and seemed to be spiced with something. The kids meals looked somewhat...

We have been before and loved it so decided to bring our family down for a post wedding celebration. We had a large table but pre ordered most items. My half roast chicken was ok but the people who ordered Sunday lunch complained about the cabbage, the beef was too peppery and gravy watery. Service was very slow and my...

We arrived all together in a party of 20 and where seated in the reserved area. The manger then came over and went through our previously confirmed food order and proceeded to give those to the kitchen. My partner ordered separately due to several dietary requirements and then joined our party after doing so. Around 5 minutes later the manager...

Stayed for one night _ the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but it is a very old building so what do you expect?!! Sheets were spotless and the bathroom was up to date with good shower - fabulous white fluffy towels! We had good tea and coffee making facilities _ fresh milk was a bonus!...

This trip was a 50th Birthday treat for my husband. We were joined by our son and his girlfriend. Both double rooms were tastefully decorated they are not large rooms but this is an old building and they are advertised as small doubles. The bathrooms were a good size and you can request a room with a bath if you...

This is a very old hotel and we're told that such eminent people as Alfred Lord Tennyson and Robert Louis Stevenson graced its rooms in years gone by (see below photo that is on its wall). I wonder what these fine gentlemen would think of it now! Without wishing to state the obvious, Keswick is a lovely place and nearby...

We were advised to book as we have heard it was a very busy pub. It was busy when we arrived but service was very quick and the team were friendly and pleasant. A table of 6 adults and 2 children all left very full and pleased with their meals. Two thumbs up from an eight year old and a...

We had a great stay at The Royal Oak. We drove up from London for a long weekend away and received a warm, genuine welcome upon arrival. Staff - friendly, warm and helpful. Location - very central, lots to do and see within walking distance. Downside was, of course, noisy at night. Restaurant - charming! Lovely atmosphere and really nice...
