We have stayed in Keswick on several occasions as we have a lot of family who live here, and this has always been the ideal place for us. However on this occasion we found that things were in need of bringing up to date. We had a lovely room which I don't have any complaints about, however although the meal...

We stayed for one night only on a Saturday with friends. The only room available was a standard ( we usually have deluxe rooms or suites) and we thought £208 for 1 nights bed and breakfast in a 3 star a bit steep. Saying that, the location was second to none and the room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The...

While on holiday in the area we called in for a meal, We found the staff very friendly and helpful and excellent service and the food was very good. Even when our normally very well behaved labrador decided to kick up a stink and cause mayhem due to the small pug dog at the next table deciding to jump out...

The Skiddaw plods along, the food is equally plodding, sadly, nothing on the bar menu can be recommended same tedious 'toastie' sandwiches badly need revamping. I bet the slicing machine in the kitchen doesn't get much of a rest, just like the one in the Borrowdale Hotel, one of the classiest buildings in 'Borrwdale'. It's awful to see standards slump...

We booked the Skiddaw hotel through their web site and found an amazing deal of £69. per person per night, including tea and scones on arrival three course meal and breakfast next morning. The scones were served warm and looked home made, loads of jam and cream. Delicious! The three course meal was, again, delicious and beautifully cooked. Breakfast the...

The start of April 2017 we stayed at the Skiddaw for 2 nights...for a delayed wedding anniversary celebration. We were so unfortunate to be roomed at the front of the Hotel at a time when the rooms for some reason were incredibly warm even after turning off the heating when we arrived so the Windows had to be opened during...

We are visiting Keswick with our ten year old dog who has a poor prognosis and this will be his last trip. He had been running around so it is hard to believe he will not be with us for long. The hotel is welcoming, central and the staff are professional and friendly. We had a lovely tea and scones...
