If you are planning to walk the Dales Way, this is a MUST for your last night before the last section to Windermere. The host, Tony, is a mine of information and supporter of the Dales Way Association. He is an outdoor enthusiast and you will find his experiences fascinating. There is an honesty tuck shop in the bedrooms. The...

Welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive owners. Not far from the Dales Way. The room was large, clean and pleasant. They do not do dinner, but breakfast was very good. The pub, for dinner, is less than five minutes away, or the owners will give you a lift further away for dinner.

We had our last night here as we completed the Dales Way and it was the perfect way to finish it off. Tony greeted us with offers of drinks and later ferried us to and from a pub as Burnside itself is not over endowed with hostelries. The rooms were very good with good en suite showers to recover from...

We stayed here following an attempt at the Dales Way (blighted by the worst of walkers' complaints: blisters!). Tony and Caroline were quite simply amazing! They were kind, welcoming and - most impressive of all - inspiring! We left feeling invigorated and excited about life! Genuinely! Neither of us can think of a B&B which has ever had that effect...

We walked the Dales Way backwards, therefore Tony and Caroline were our first stop off, and what a fantastic start to our trip. Such a welcoming place with welcoming people. Tony himself has walked more walks than I could name and a really interesting man chat to talk to. His tea loaf in the fab packed lunch he made for...

What a wonderful place with top notch hospitality! Everything about Lakeland Hills exceeded my expectations and the hosts Tony and Caroline were genuinely warm and friendly and made you feel special. The accommodation was also superb with thoughtful touches with everything and more that you would ever want or need. Would highly recommend.

We were warmly welcomed by Tony and Caroline. Our room was very comfortable with welcome amenities, including tea and cake upon arrival. They provided transportation to a fine restaurant. The neighborhood was quiet. They are walkers themselves, and were very helpful with tips and stories as we looked forward to our last leg on the Dales Way. Thanks so much!

We used this B & B for our Dales Way stopover. Tony and his wife Caroline made us extremely welcome and we had some interesting conversation with them. Our room on the ground floor was lovely, extremely large and well equipped with views into the garden. The whole house was spotless and breakfast was delightful, try the American Pancakes and...

I arrived tired and wet after a long walk on the Dales Way and was met by the lovely Tony who took away my wet and muddy boots and coat and handed me tea and cake. I met Caroline for a shorter time as she was working but both she and Tony were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Tony was really...

Everything that everyone has said about Tony's is true. From the still warm cake and hot drinks when you arrive, to his very helpful instructions over the best waffles ever, the attention to detail is divine. I only wish I had arrived sooner to hear more stories from Tony, and to meet his wife, who was working that night. If you're...
