Richard and Sue could not have been friendlier or more helpful, providing lots of local information. Breakfast was beautifully cooked with lots of choice. Rooms were great and super clean, with lots of little personal touches. Location was perfect for walks from the front door and for great amenities in the village, which was a short walk, such as tea...

We stayed here for three nights and immensely enjoyed our room, other guests' rooms, stunning garden, breakfast and friendly and very welcoming hospitality from Sue and Richard. The location is also great with a short and picturesque walk down to the village along a lovely country lane. There are many varied walks from the Manor to suit everyone. The things...

We stayed for 3 nights in May in the verandah room. Fantastic breakfast started our day of exploring the Lake District on foot using the 17th Century house as our base. Hosts had excellent knowledge of surrounding area and provided superb walks with attractions to visit along the route. The weather was glorious and we enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful...

stayed there with my 87 year old mum who also loved it! We had the Verandah rooms which has shared bathroom and it's own entrance up some stairs. The verandah itself looks out over the beautifully cared for garden, which Sue showed us round. Less than 10 min walk to heart of Hawkshead and the view of surrounding countryside is...

We booked the Walker Ground Manor as it certainly met our needs for a relaxing weekend break in the Lake District. The Hotel reviews certainly match our experience, beautiful location, accommodation, food etc etc and Sue and Richard are wonderful hosts.

The owners are so welcoming and serve a great full English breakfast. The rooms are delightful, we had a four poster bed and bathroom with a view . Really quiet too while being less than 5 minutes to the pubs of Hawkshead. Never moved the car, beautiful walks right from the door.

What an amazing place! We stayed to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and were looking for somewhere special and we were not disappointed. Sue and Richard were fantastic hosts from the superbly cooked breakfasts to the home made lemon cake. The room was amazing and of a high standard. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Hawkshead.

What a delightful place to stay, in the most beautiful location. Just a short stroll away from the lovely village of Hawkshead. Food at the Queens Head Inn was faultless. Sue and Richard really do make your stay memorable. Thank you both. Breakfast is just the best, with so much choice. I would highly recommend the stunning four poster room....

Checked in last weekend to this fabulous bed and breakfast. The hosts Sue and Richard are lovely and very accomodating. The rooms (we booked two)were very clean and we loved all the extra touches, like the hand made chocolates in the room every day. When we arrived we were met with tea coffee and a home made victoria sponge (no soggy bottom).Wondeful!...
