We were staying in a great, local B&B (Walker Ground) a short walk away and had a lovely meal here in the evening. It is a small cosy pub with friendly, quick service and the food was hot and home made.

After visiting some of the somewhat scruffy pubs in the area that offered food in the bar or restaurant, we had a good experience here - clean, well presented, good polite service and selection of food. We had 10oz gammon steaks (minus the eggs) with new potatoes and veg, accompanied by 2 glasses of a good red for GBP35.00.....................a most...

My partner and I recently dined at this hotel and did not have a good experience. We arrrived at 6.20 for a 6.30 sitting and was told they needed the table back for 7.45. This was not a problem for us however, after placing the order we didnt get the main course for 1 hour and 15 mins. I specifically...

We ate in the bar as we had our Golden Retriever staying there with us. We met a couple from Baltimore in the...

We just went there for an evening meal (hence, no comments about the accommodation). The restaurant in the pub is not the cheapest of the ones available in Hawkshead but it is the best. Very pleasant and friendly staff, clean tables (none of the remnant sticky patches you sometimes get in pubs) and a good choice of food at reasonable...

Quiet inn for a lovely weekend stay. Very comfortable cosy room with all amenities needed. Hot breakfast cooked to order with excellent quality ingredients. Also ate in the restaurant one evening. Very good traditional pub fare with very generous portions. Rooms at front can have a bit of noise from outside the front of the pub at night but the...

A return visit to this wonderfully dog friendly pub proved to be as welcoming as ever. Hawkshead is a great location to begin walks or from which to drive to higher levels but what a bonus to be able to have our dog with us and return to a friendly pub with well kept beers, very good meals and inviting...
