Welcoming and friendly staff. Food OK but much, much better in the pub next door. Rooms OK, décor tired and in need of some TLC but who cares when you've had a skin-full after a great day's walking? From a cost perspective a bit expensive for what you get but compared to the prices of the other watering holes/digs in...

Both myself and my mum had fish and chips and burger and chips. Now I am incredibly fussy but this was the best fish and chips I've ever had. The tartre sauce was homemade and the best I've ever had it had a bit of coriander in it! Mums burger was top notch fancy with black sticks blue cheese on...

We had a really nice weekend at the sun Inn, we ate their both nights and the food was top class especially the sea bass special on the Saturday night they have entertainment on a Friday night we saw a female singer called Sam smith who was excellant the room was very clean ans well maintained would defnitly stay here...

Myself and my partner loved our weekend away at Sun Inn. The pub seems to be a favourite in the village and you can certainly see why. The menu provides great choice and the food was fantastic. The bedrooms are nicely done out - they seem modern but in a really country way and I loved that!! The only downside...

Stayed here over the bank holiday. We were really impressed. The room was lovely and clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was amazing! Would definitely recommend it and we will be visiting again. Thank you to all at the sun inn for a fabulous time.

The Sun Inn,one of a number of great little places to stay in the fantastic lovely village of Hawkshead.The rooms are quite small but this is quite normal for some country type Inns,but they are clean and comfortable.Good beer and good food !

We have just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at the Sun Inn. The rooms are cosy, clean and homely. We ate in the restaurant/bar on a number of occasions and the food is excellent....it is tasty, hot and more than generous in portions. The breakfast is plentiful, varied and a very happy experience. Lovely hotel.....decent rooms albeit small.....Hawkshead is a vibrant village with plenty going on.....the Sun is as good a place as ant to say.......breakfast was very good as was the service.....I would definitely recommend and will certainly stay again.
