We come to Hawkeshead every year with our friends and have stayed at the Sun In three years running. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the staff are always friendly and helpful and there is a great atmosphere in the bar. The breakfast is really good but we were never impressed by the evening meals. This year we ate...

Arrived cold wet and hungry. Sat next to the lovely roaring log fire, drinking mulled wine. Alex behind the bar explained we had missed the lunch menu but would be serving again at 6 so we went for a wonder around the very picturesque village and arrived back to have an amazing meal. All 4 of us chose different from...

We had a really nice stay here when visiting friends in Pooley Bridge. The staff were lovely and friendly and very accommodating nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The food was reasonably priced excellent quality and plenty of it. All in all a really nice place to stay

Stayed here for 1 night to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and had a great stay. Had room 1 which was really nicely decorated with a nice comfy bed. Check in was painless as was checkout. A nice touch is that you get a free parking pass for the car park over the road which was very handy indeed. The Inn...

We stayed at the Sun in September after the sad loss of our father. The hotel manager Nick and the staff could not do enough for us. We held the funeral buffet at the Inn and they put on an excellent buffet and took great care of family members and guests they even closed the public bar to the general...

We stayed overnight on our way home to South East England from a trip around Scotland and only booked B&B the night before we arrived. We had the four poster room which although small, had plenty of character. The bed itself was comfortable although the bed side lights could have done with being brighter to read by. We were a...

We stayed in the family room which was of a good size, however, the bathroom was tiny not at all suitable for a family! I would rate the room average. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and whilst it was OK I would not rave about it. My son age 8 did not want anything on the...
