Having been turned away from the Sun Inn (because they'd decided to stop serving half an hour earlier than stated so they could clean the kitchen!), we were so pleased to find the Red Lion. Friendly and efficient service, fantastic proper home-cooked and tasty food - the best meal I'd eaten all week! Have been a frequent visitor to the...

We went into the pub with the dogs Fri & Sat night for a meal. Good food & a good selection of ales at the bar & the dogs were made very welcome. Fresh home cooked food. Friendly staff aswell. Live music on most weekends. Proper roaring fires. They've even got a special menu for the dogs!

Just returned from an excellent break here. We were made to feel very welcome by Paul, Lynn, Helen, Jackie + Matt (Hola!) with our dog Benji! The Full Lakeland breakfasts were beautiful & set us up for a days exploration of a beautiful area of the Lakes. One of our circular walks started from the pub! What more could we...

We stayed here for a 2 night break and couldn't have picked a better location. Staff at the Red Lion were very helpful, accomodating and attentive. The Inn itself has that 'olde worlde' charm with creaky uneven floor boards and a big old bed that was very comfortable. We loved It! The breakfast was very good indeed with plenty of...

During our Easter break from school we decided to have a short break in the Lakes and having found this stay on Living Social we decided to book it. On arrival everyone was chatty, helpful and very friendly. We were shown to our room which was comfortable and warm with everything we needed for our two night stay. We did...
