Stayed 2 nights 28th & 29th December had executive double bedroom which was on the first floor. Really good size room with ample space. Bathroom fine with ample hot water, shower over the bath was poor. Have stayed here 3 times before now feel the ground floor rooms require an uplift with better furnishings definite lack of comfy seating. After...

We stayed for a couple of nights before New Year in a room with a four poster bed. As other reviewers have said, the hotel is a little tired around the edges, but the room and bathroom were clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Xmas and I particularly liked the small seating area off...

Stayed the night here on New Year's Eve and on the whole, had a great time. The room though a bit tatty was clean and the bed comfy. Staff are lovely and very friendly. The place itself was warm and welcoming and in a good location. Breakfast was enjoyable but the evening meal lacked any real taste and we felt...

I booked for a table for 4 people for dinner on New Year’s eve at the restaurant in this hotel for what I thought was the standard a la carte menu and so had forwarded this around beforehand. We turned up a little earlier and decided to go to the bar for a drink. When we walked up to the...

Three of us went to the Swan Hotel in Grasmere on New Year's Day after being unable to find a table anywhere else in the area, we were quite surprised to find it wasn't very busy at all. We ordered food - two crayfish tail sandwiches and fish and chips. The fish and chips was ok but at £13, a...

Room 18 was the room allocated, it was perfect - great size, great views, clean, spacious, i'd definitely ask for that room again! McDonalds have this hotel spot on, for 3 reasons. Anthony, the manager, Barry, the assistant manager, and Tony, the night porter, The 3 of these work together to make it one of the friendliest hotels to visit....
