the bar staff were charging a 50p fee on all credit card transactions INCLUDING contactless payments --this illegal rip off HAS TO STOP !!!!!! No doubt the management were well aware of this. The Lake District can be a rip off ,but this is unbelievable,I will never stay here again.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this wonderful hotel. It has about 16 rooms and all seem to have good views set in ample and attractive grounds with good parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food and drink was very good and there is a good range of real ales at their adjoining bar....

I'm not quite sure which hotel some of the reviewers stayed at but it couldn't have been this one. Once again, we were treated to a wonderful stay at Dale Lodge - our second and by no means our last. We chose one of the better rooms - upper floor, wonderful view, recently refurbished, roomy, comfortable, you name it. Service...

Booked through Secret Escapes. Great location in Grasmere, a quaint little Lakes village. Very friendly lady at reception, she explained things to us and showed us to our room. The room was a little small, had no view but had everything we needed and was comfy. The water pipes were sometimes a little noisy but didn't disturb us during the...

What a hidden gem in Grasmere. Driven past this place many times but never stayed. Fantastic staff, gorgeous room, amazing food and beautiful grounds. Impeccably clean with beautiful decor. 10/10. If you just want a pint, Tweedies is brilliant with the same standard of food and service. Good parking as well. I'm fussy to say the least but this place...

We enjoyed our stay at Dale Lodge, the room was pleasant and the breakfast was particularly good. Our only frustration was at the time of booking the hotel were advertising that they had day passes for a nearby spa - when we arrived and enquired about this they had stopped the deal, although we noticed it was still advertised on...

The location and gardens were beautiful and food was very good. The room was disappointing though, was noisy and the window was ill fitting. The hotel had said that they accepted dogs and on the booking site said there may be a charge. It was a shock to discover that the hotel wanted to charge £25 per night for a...

Opted to stay in Grasmere whilst visiting the Lakes and chose the Dale Lodge Hotel. This is a nice hotel in a glorious location. The rooms are clean and functional with an en-suite, TV plus tea and coffee. Our room had a shower whilst others also have a bath. One negative, our room looked out at a roof 10 feet...

We settled on Grasmere for our break away, after looking at the different hotels in the area we decided on the Dale Lodge. One of the things that attracted us was the fact they had Tweedies Pub next door. We booked just a standard room, we were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room, it was nicely decorated and spotlessly...

Everything about Dale lodge is fantastic; rooms, location, service, staff - will definitely be going back again! There is an adjoining bar which had free live music on the Saturday night which was an added bonus. Great weekend with beautiful surrounding scenery.
