Booked a luxury Grasmere room in this very friendly hotel. Overall had a very pleasant stay of 2 nights. Just a few niggles stopped me giving 5 stars. The room was of a good size but for the price would have expected 2 comfy chairs - only one comfy chair and one dressing table type chair so one of us...

Great attention to detail, extremely helpful staff. Extremely clean hotel including the very well maintained Spa area. Food was fabulous and the chef catered for changes to the menu due to my dietary requirements and even made suggestions. Highly recommended.

My friend and I were greeted by very friendly staff. Stephanie was very helpful and kind allocating us a new room after we had been kept awake by someone snoring exceptionally loudly in the room next to us! Nothing was too much trouble and our bags were moved for us. Stephanie was particularly helpful in the restaurant as my friend...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Rothay Garden. If we had driven around Grasmere to select a hotel on kerbside appeal we would have chosen this hotel. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and valued guests, our luggage was carried to our room and everything appeared 5 star. Our room was small,...

We had a lovely 2 night stay, Room was clean, modern We stayed in Room 17, there is a lovely balcony which looks out into the well kept gardens, in the summer this is a must, only thing I wasn't happy with but that's my preference is that the bed was hard. Staff were very helpful, attentive, and couldn't do...

This hotel is in a prime location for the lake district. The hotel is very clean and large comfortable rooms. The staff are extremely friendly and hard working I must mention Stephanie who made our visit and always had a smile. Pete who helped us, giving us directions to Helm Crag and always had banter with us in the mornings....

Excellent hotel. First stay - will be returning. All staff were genuinely helpful and friendly making us feel very welcome. The hotel is very well appointed, spotlessly clean and had a homely/cosy feel. The menu was excellent and all food we ate was of a high quality; the breakfast was particularly good. The dining room is an interesting space will...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I can honestly say it is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was superb I even got a vegetarian breakfast which believe me is hard to come by. The cleanliness...

The Lakes is not known for brilliant weather in March, so we deliberately chose this hotel because of the spa. We were glad we had, it didn't stop raining hard. The hotel were kind enough to upgrade us when we phoned the direct and we had a loveley room with a balcony overlooking the river and mountains. In the rain,...

I booked the Rothay Garden as a birthday surprise for my husband. We'd always said we would like to stay there and it didn't disappoint on any level. From the lovely clean, stylish room to the friendly staff - everything was perfect. Staff were efficient and professional with nothing being too much bother. We had an evening meal there which...
