First of all the plus points about this hotel. It is slap bang in the middle of Grasmere and has good parking facilities with plenty of space. The staff are fantastic and a big plus point. Must admit to being a little disappointed after seeing our room (1) the decor was a little tired and the heating did not come...

My wife and decided we needed a break away. We chose Grasmere for a 2 night stay, as it not too far away and the hotel was recommended by the mother in law. The hotel is situated right in the middle of the village with a large car park for about 20+ cars. We had a room on the first...

Stayed for two nights. Firstly the staff are the big plus at the hotel and you cannot fault their service, however the hotel really per night. The room had a damp smell and on inspection the wallpaper was coming away from the ceiling above the window, bathroom had mould and four poster bed swayed from side to side. We where...

My husband and I stayed for a 4 night mid-week break and had a wonderful time. The staff were all very welcoming and provided excellent service. Our ground floor room was very light and spacious, located beside the river and also had a private patio, with table and chairs. The bathroom was equipped with useful handrails, which we found helpful...

I did love this hotel, but I was disappointed with the very small bar and very limited selection of draught beers(2).I understand it is in the middle of being refurbished so maybe the owners might like to think about the bar.I cannot fault the management and staff who were terrific, but out of the three nights we stayed here we only had...

The Bridge House Hotel is in quite a picturesque setting and very central. There a plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance although strangely they seem to have the same menu and pricing. The booking in experience was good, and we were shown to our room. The room backed onto a fast flowing stream and had lovely views of...

Hotel is set in lovely area/setting. The room and ensure were comfortable and very clean. Four poster bed very comfortable but took up too much space in an average size room. Ensuite lighting and dressing table lighting was very poor. Food was excellent, good selection of foods for breakfast and evening meals. Fish was particularly tasty and cooked perfectly. The...

We didn't plan to stay at the Bridge House Hotel this weekend but we are so glad we did. The Bridge is in the middle of Grasmere overlooked by the church. Whilst it is not the most contemporary hotel in the Lakes, it is warm, comfortable and clean. The rooms are large (we had a family room sleeping 3) with...
