This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Red Lion. Each time we have noticed improvements throughout including pool and gym which we did not use on this occasion. Stayed in Helm Crag suite which had very good outlook to the side of the hotel. Food excellent and generally we were very satisfied. A good atmosphere in the...

Great location, lovely and friendly staff. We booked the Ruskin suite as it had two bedrooms and a nice living space. Perfect hotel for young families who want to explore the lakes. Walk up to Easdale Tarn not too arduous for young children. Grasmere itself is such a lovely chilled village.

Ours was a last minute late booking which was half price on one of the late booking sites. For what we got the price was right......bedroom was small but clean and more than adequate and being on the 3rd floor, we did have a small balcony with table and chairs....as it was a warm night the door was left open....

Lovely hotel in the heart of Lake District. Very friendly i polite staff (girls behind the bar and housekeeping staff were great ) , except bar teamleader on our second day...apart from that fish and chips was the only disapointment...would definetely recommend it to everyone :)

Can't recommend this hotel more... Lovely location and recently modernised with a really nice vibe. What really made the visit special was the staff. Ashleigh was very helpful when we first arrived and very pleasant when we checked in but I would really like to mention Julie the reception manager who made us feel so welcome and handed us a...

We paid £120 for a great double room with breakfast and the hotel location is perfect. It has been recently renovated so the public areas look very impressive. Some cons: hardly any parking at the hotel so we had to pay £15 in the local long stay. Although the hotel has been renovated our bathroom hadn't and looked a bit...

The location was fantastic, truly beautiful and would recommend Grasmere most certainly- but not the Red Lion I'm afraid. The biggest problem was the heat in the room. It was withering and we only had a pedestal fan blowing in to the main part of the bedroom. Our room had a silly little annex that had a sofa in it...

Dear Murray, Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. With regards to 'little annex' in your room, this is a living room with 40" TV, Fireplace, 2 Arm Chairs & Sofa. Most people love this as being able to sit and relax in such a comfortable area is very rare in hotel rooms, the beautiful views of...

Dear Vassy, Thank you for your lovely review! The Silver Howe Suite is a very popular room, especially with the large south facing balcony in this weather.
