We booked last minute and had to pay £140!!!!! For their largest room - 20. Everything about this place is tired and needs to be replaced. Four poster bed had a cheap mattress and cigarette burns in the canopy. Two v cheap blue leatherette sofas were ugly and uncomfortable. Old fashioned CRT tv was at least 15 years old and...

Just back from my stay in Ambleside Lodge. This is my no 2 visit in the last two years. Good clean accomodation, which is relatively central in the lakes. Not a flash B&B in comparison to some, but clean and comfortable with good food. Last time I commented I would like more pillows and I am pleased to say there...

My wife and I were made to feel very welcome, given a better room than expected and felt looked after. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were only really aware of other guests staying there at breakfast time - breakfast which we were informed is made using locally sourced products - it was indeed the best bacon I had ever...

We never received an email or a refund before we arrived in Ambleside. (we have now received the refund but no email) We were left high and dry,...

Ambleside lodge is located near the edge of town (5 min walking to town center). Well maintained rooms, the two person bed in room 19 was a little small for two persons. In the morning was i accussed from pushing my girlfriend twice out of bed during the night ;-)
