This is the first time my husband and I have stayed in the Lake District so were a little unsure where to start when booking a hotel. The fisherbeck was recommended to us by friends who stayed here previously and I can see why.... The hotel is spotless and beautifully decorated. The room was a good size as was the...

perfectly placed for getting into the mountains. we did Fairfield Horseshoe from the hotel - about 16 miles in the snow in Feb! the great food was even tastier after days in the mountains. Great wine selection with the owner on hand to recomend wines with the different courses.

The Fisherbeck is ideally located a short walk from Ambleside Town Centre. All staff were extremely friendly, from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay. We found the owner to be polite and friendly - providing useful advice on walks, current route conditions and offering the use of their 'drying facilities' for our gear should we need them. Our...

The Cottage is located only few minutes from the centre of Ambleside, on the top of the hill. The view from the terrace is very nice and inside is everything modern and usefull. The high standard of all bungalow...

To be honest we had no reason to complain so we never had to come up against him but whenever we spoke to him he was always polite, if not overly friendly, but...

I friend & I based ourselves here for a wet weekend hiking. Everyone was really helpful, in particular the owner who stayed up til 1am to receive us after a very long drive. The hotel is warm and very clean. We stayed in a superior twin which again was clean and to a very high standard. A real bonus to...

We've just got back from another great stay at Fisherbeck. We can't recommend this place highly enough. The hotel is spotless and we are always welcomed with a smile. Breakfast is amazing, there's something for everyone. From full English to boiled eggs, salmon or muffin basket. My personal favourite is the porridge with honey and whisky soaked sultanas. This weekend...

Yes, we are back again! It says something for the hotel that we always check availability here first if we are planning to come to this part of the lake district, and we haven't been disappointed yet! we always get a warm welcome, hearty breakfasts, great accommodation, and a wealth of knowledgeable advise!
