We stayed here for the weekend while visiting Ambleside for the Christmas lights switch on. There were 6 of us in total 4 adults and 2 kids, we had plenary of room and were extremely comfortable. The house is beautiful, 3 floors of 5 star luxury. Having stayed in the Fisherbeck a number of times we wouldn't have expected anything...

Stayed here Monday to Friday, made to feel very welcome immediately the owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room and all the details on layout and facilities explained. We even received a complementary beverage to freshen up after the journey. The room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was out of this...

My wife and I booked a 3 day visit in October. We had stayed here previously quite a few years ago. We were welcomed in a very friendly way and shown to our room. It faced the front with a balcony and lovely views. The room was well appointed with a very nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Included in the...

As regular enough visitors to Ambleside we were trying somewhere different due to a change of ownership at the place we usually go to. So a chance to find a new favourite. On the plus side we were not disturbed by road or other guest noise, our room was very clean, there was enough private parking, our room had lovely...

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to write your review and for the positive comments made regarding your room, parking, location & cleanliness. We do though decorate on a very regular basis, including our main lounge and dining room just this last January, and decor is always so subjective is it not? I do though apologise for...

Enjoyed a lovely one night stay at this well presented guest house/hotel, ideally situated just on the edge of Ambleside, 5 minute walk into town. The proprietor was professional and pleasant and helpful and so was the lovely lady on the desk. Room was clean and comfortable, amazing comfy mattress, modern decor, couldn't fault a thing. It was quiet even...

Wendy and I have just returned from three nights at The Fisherbeck. We have been here many times over the years but, due to a bereavement, we had to cancel last year so our return was after a two year break. This really is a home from home for us and we have always had a fantastic stay with Ray,...

Hello Mr & Mrs B. It really was good to see you again after your rather traumatic time over the passed few months. And we are thrilled that you consider us a home away from home. But let's face it, there really is nowhere better than the English Lake District to refresh the soul...particularly if the weather is in your...

We arrived here on Monday for 3 nights and for a break away and paid £237. It was our first time in Ambleside and the location of the hotel is ideal! Turn right and head into the centre and turn left for the lake. Go straight ahead for a verrrrry nice restaurant! Staff can't do enough for you, breakfast is...

Positives - friendly and helpful staff - a lot of rooms so more like a hotel than a B&B which we liked - on site parking - nice choice for breakfast and we enjoyed the English Breakfast but it would have been even better if it came with beans too - good location, 5 mins walk from Ambleside in one...

Quaint looking hotel, with attentive staff in a great location. However, it's slightly old fashioned and could do with a lick of paint. The "lounge" is simply 2 chairs and a TV and seems like a waste of space, where they could put a proper bar or something. The room was a little tired and in need of a refresh....
