I booked this hotel for a few night's stay in Ambleside. Looking at some of the comments I was a bit apprehensive of what I may encounter. However, I need not have worried! While it is not a five star hotel, it was more than acceptable. My room appeared to have been recently decorated and was clean. The staff were...

I've stayed 3 or 4 times over the years. Staff are very friendly, but as others have said, could do with sprucing up a bit. Parking is very limited but it is in the centre of town, so other car parks available. Last stay wasn't the best, room 17 is a wooden add on with no heating, haven't slept in...

Booked this hotel for 2 nights from a dog friendly site just to be rejected for having a dog, then classified as a no show so they can charge the full amount. My question is how many people have they con.

Thank you for your comments. The Hotel is dog friendly in certain areas of the Bar and in the Beer garden, just like some pubs, but not in the Dining Room / Restaurant or Guest Bedrooms. The details of any Hotel must be read before booking, as the confusion can be avoided as in cases as parking, lifts, wheelchairs, extend...

Thank you for your comments. This is a town centre hotel with limited parking, so nothing much can be done about the parking. There are several public car parks in the area. We have plenty of tea pots as we serve tea daily after breakfast. For breakfast, as tea coffee juices etc are on a self service basis, the teapots...

Very nice stay. Room was very bright and clean with a comfy bed and en suite. Staff were friendly. The only criticism is that the breakfast times are from 8am till 09 30. I was sitting eating my breakfast and I could see quite a few guests coming down at 9 30 and the staff were saying breakfast is finished....

Thank you for your kind remarks and rating. It is always encouraging to staff and management who do put in a lot of effort on a daily basis to give their best. I always give good rating as well when I stay in Hotels as I see the good things as well in the Hotel. Breakfast is between 8 am...

Avoid! Not been decorated or cleaned since the 80s, holes in curtains, cobwebs so thick on windows like something from a horror movie, spiders in the room, walls dirty. Kettle filthy inside and out, bed linen dirty, shower filthy. Not double glazed so noise from street/bars loud, no parking available so don't take heavy bags as you will need to...

We think that this is a fictitious review with some malicious intent. For someone from Sussex who has submitted only two reviews which is recent, both in Ambleside with both extreme negative untrue remarks is highly suspicious in itself. We are of the opinion that this individual did not stay in the Hotel. The Hotel frontage and beer garden has...

The hotel we didn't go to we just used the pub as a restaurant. The food was nice and to standard. The drinks were nice and why had a wide variety. They had board games to add to the calm atmospheric feeling to the pub which was a great feel. I would defiantly come again and recommend to anyone in...

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. We upgraded to the double room with four poster bed after reading on other tripadvisor reviews that the rooms were small. Our room was nice and spacious with a small couch and armchair as well as the four poster bed and the bathroom was also spacious and clean with a good shower...

Just stayed at the Queens and generally OK but really made a very pleasant stay with a good choice of breakfast alternatives. One of our party wanted a specific basic item to help with their breakfast. 2-3 minutes later it was produced (Soya milk) which was probably got from the local shop just for that request. They even offered to...

The room was clean and tidy, staff pleasant. We had food at night it was good, breakfast was good. The hotel was old but ok for a one night stay over. We would stop over again, parking was a bit of a problem as they have very limited space.
