We were cold hungry and thirsty so we popped in and i was amazed! The food was lovely and drinks were nice and chilled. The lady behind the bar was very polite despite the lemonade wasn't working but had backups & alternatives so no worries there. All in all very good and we will be visiting again.

How can you begin to describe at pub on the the top of a hill? Except that the (almost) highest pub in England accepted a coach load of passengers and ramblers at short notice at 10am due to poor weather conditions and were even less fazed when two other coaches arrived having seen the pub open! Fantastic and just goes...

Thought we would go in for lunch after walking up red scree opposite. Two over priced, processed burgers and fries. There are so many great places to eat in the lakes and maybe the lack of competition in this remote setting means they simply don't feel they need to bother to offer that bit extra or quality product. We won't...

It was snowing and blowing hard, when we arrived at what I believe to be the highest pub in Britain, to a lovely open fire and pint of real ale. Stop there every time we do the kirkstone pass and always will. Nice!!

We drove through heavy rain and fog to get to the Inn but thought it would be worth it. We arrived at about 12:30 only to find it in darkness and firmly closed we were so disappointed, we won't be going back!!!

Have been there several times coming back from walks near Keswick or Glenridding but always only stopped for a meal (which were always very good) this time decided to give it a shot and stay over. Me and my wife stayed for a couple of nights in the big four poster en-suite room which was in fact a self-contained apartment...

This very welcoming pub is old, charming, comfortable, warm and everything we like in a pub. The ambience is calm and peaceful. No tv. No slot machines. We sat by the cheerful roaring fire. To us, it was the perfect pub that could at one time be found all over the UK. Loved it. The food was fresh and well...

What a place to stop and watch the weather over the hills. Good bear from kirkstone brewery. Nice roaring fire to keep warm. Did not have food but it looked good. If you can try and get a seat outside

We stayed at the Kirkstone Pass Inn Bunk room for a weekend while canoeing the Lakes. Good basic bunks with a shower, toilet and 2 basins. We arrived very late after a terrible 350 mile, 9.5 hour drive and their kept the Pub open until we had arrived and were still very welcoming. We had their cooked breakfast and an...

Popped in here whilst we were wild camping near by on a wild, wet and misty night. We had already eaten (dehydrated meals) which was a great shame as the food here looked brilliant - especially the curries. So we enjoyed a few beers instead in good company, and a lovely atmosphere. So we had a few more..... The only...
