We stayed for two nights in February 2017 for what turned out to be a very special trip for us! Location of the hotel was perfect, we had one of the superior rooms which was just across the car park away from the main hotel and it felt more private as we had our own front door and stairs up...

My fiancée and I stayed at The Regent for 4 nights. The hotel is on the bank on Lake Windermere and is only a 15-20 minute walk from Ambleside, it's a great location for exploring the Lake District. Our stay at hotel was lovely, the room was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. The hotel has a lovely relaxed...

Fabulous location - good for a stroll in and out of Ambleside. Nice rooms and clean. Modern, clean look on entry and in the bar however the dining area is dated and the service is not great. Plastic table covers and not cleared and cleaned correctly at breakfast. Staff nice but not attentive. Food really disappointing. - considering all the...

Stayed for two nights everything was perfect. Our dog accompanied us on our stay and was even provided with water bowl in room and was welcomed in the bar area. All the staff were very attentive and professional. Ate both nights in the hotel sampling both bar and restaurant menu - make sure you are hungry as very substantial meals...

Had a 2 night break here just me and the wife, right on the banks of Windermere. The hotel had some lovely dimly lit corners perfect for chatting over a glass of wine, it was well priced and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were treated to a lovely cooked breakfast and I mean it was lovely not...

We stayed here a few weeks ago and had a lovely stay. The superior room was well worth the extra. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and were suitably impressed with the service and the food. Breakfast was very good just one liitle moan , the bacon was overcooked. The hotel is in a good location...

Stayed here for just one night. All the staff are so friendly, at check-in and including everyone in the bar/restaurant, at breakfast and also the cleaning staff. We really enjoyed our stay. We had a superior room set apart from the main building but all the rooms looked nice. It is right by the Lake and has a car park....

Excellent location right on Lake Windermere, the rooms were fantastic, spacious and pristine. The evening meal was excellent, presentation was great and the staff professional and friendly. Breakfast was equally as good. Not the cheapest accommodation available, but really good value for your money.
