We stayed here for two nights and found it to be a good homebase. You can walk into town in about 20 minutes. I'd recommend ground floor room if have stroller as no lift. Clean room and great full breakfast. Quiet resort in good location.

My partner and I stayed here for one night in between Christmas and New Year. The room was great - tastefully decorated and well appointed with everything you would expect. The bathroom was spacious with instant hot water and plenty of pressure from the shower. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and although the food was tasty...

Excellent stay, stayed Friday - Sunday. Staff very friendly, especially the breakfast waiter she would ask you questions about your plans, recommend certain breakfasts and give you a good happy start to the day. Also a big selection of breakfasts. Bar food was good, we had the hotdog which is huge and topped with pulled pork and gherkins with a...

My husband, 5 month old baby and I stayed here for a short break. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the Lake, and a 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside. The reception staff were very friendly and helped take our belongings to the room. The room was a good size with an area for a...

When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful reception staff, we enjoyed sitting in the warm and cosy lounge, our rooms were all extremely warm and beautifully presented too. At dinner we were seated at a circular table and the...

My wife and I had to visit Ambleside to collect something and decided to book a night in a hotel and relax a little. We booked the Regent at a very good rate and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded on arrival to a superior room which was outside of the main building. The room was very nice and had...

Spent some nights in early January. Great room, great breakfasts, great evening bar meals, and great steak nights. All in all a real find and a perfect hotel as a base to visit the lake district. And above all, to a man or woman, polite, efficient, friendly staff.
