I rarely stay the same place twice but this place is so great that I had to. Once with my partner and once with my mum and sister, both times it was amazing and my family and partner agree. It is dog friendly. We didn't bring a dog but my partner loves dogs and thought it was a major bonus...

My wife and I tend not to visit the same place too often - we like to try somewhere new. But we keep going back to The Old Vicarage in Ambleside because of its location, its friendly family-run atmosphere, its dog-friendly rooms, the breakfasts, the pool, the little snooker table, the fridge in the room, the ice-on-demand in the hallway...

What a fab place to stay, very friendly and welcoming. Central location, excellent facilities, nothing too much trouble for this family run B&B. Plenty of parking, pool facilities very good together with very large jacuzzi. Rooms spotless with plenty of free top up tes, coffee available and convenient ice machine for general use. We would definately stay again.

From arrival to checking out, this place was great Great facilities in the room, plus swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and polite.that's a great If I had to say something negative, it would be the room was too hot... but when it's cold outside, one likes the warmth inside!

I stayed here last weekend with my two sons aged 12 and our dog. It was a great B&B- the pool, jacuzzi and sauna is clean and warm. We were in there several times! The room was clean and very comfortable, large bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Our room had 2 rooms within the room, one with a...

Stayed for one night on 22 February. Having searched extensively for somewhere that is child AND dog friendly, and has a pool, and accepts a booking for one night only, I stumbled across the old vicarage and I have to say, it definitely ticks all the boxes. It's centrally located, just tucked off the main road, and has its own...

We stayed for three days, mid-week in February. There is off-road parking in the grounds in front of the house, although it is rather snug. Fortunately our car is not too big. The welcome was good, although there seems to be a strange slightly off-putting odour of stale cigarettes that pervades the hall; although it is a non-smoking establishment, as...
