Having wanted to visit the Lake District for some time my boyfriend and I chose Nanny Brow for a 2 night stay. Although very nice I thought it was overpriced. The daily home bakes were a nice touch and the breakfast was very good. The bathroom was also great. The view was best from the bedroom area (our room was...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about you recent stay with us. We are really pleased that you have scored us 4 out of 5 but rather upset that you used the title "Overpriced" at the end of the day everybody has their own opinion as to what value for money is and i am sorry...

Taking a break over the Bank Holiday weekend was a bit of an impulse but we were so glad we did. Nanny Brow is a beautiful renovated arts and crafts period house which clings to a steep bank covered in azaleas just outside Ambleside. The breakfast was delicious, the room delightful with a stunning view towards the Langdale valley and...

Thank you for finding the time to write a review. The bank holiday weekend certainly saw the azaleas in full bloom in our grounds and it is lovely to hear that you enjoyed the grounds. As you said we have lovingly restored Nanny Brow to it's former glory as a land mark Arts and Craft House in the Lake District....

We've stayed here a couple of times now and both times were amazing. We can't wait to stay again next year! The location is perfect for walking; Ambleside is a short walk and there is a stunning walk from the B&B through the garden, up the hill through the bluebells to a spectacular view of lake Windermere where I could...

Thank you for posting a review. We always enjoy hearing back from our guests but it especially gratifying when returning guests post such a lovely review. The Blue Bells up through Fishgarth Woods have been stunning this year, many of our guests enjoy the walk up through hear to sit and admire the view of Lake Windermere from the very...

Looking for somewhere to stay for the Bank Holiday weekend we consider ourselves very fortunate to have secured the last room at this lovely property. We stayed in the Grasmere Suite which was a lovely room with great views and a fantastic modern bathroom with walk in shower, nice toiletries and fluffy towels. There was also homemade cake which was...

Well, where do we start? We have just returned from a wonderful five-night stay in the Whitwell Suite. We appreciated the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere of this lovely Arts and Crafts property, made all the more memorable by Sue’s attention to detail and the efforts she and her staff put in to make our stay so comfortable. Afternoon tea, provided by...

My husband and I stayed at Nanny Brow over the Bank Holiday weekend and what a wonderful stay it was. We were greeted with a lovely warm, friendly welcome and shown round the property to our room. Our bedroom was decorated in an art deco style which was gorgeous. The room was comfortable and well equipped with everything a guest...

A most enjoyable stay in this supremely positioned house where the friendly owners are successfully maintaining the Arts and Crafts ethos of combining beauty with function and comfort. Nanny Brow does not do evening meals, but there is a plethora of eating establishments in Ambleside and Windermere. As breakfasts are so delicious, covering the full English to a Continental style...

A beautiful Arts & Crafts house, ideally located and with wonderful views. The Langdale suite is an amazing room with superb views. The whole place is extremely well run with super friendly helpful staff and owners! We stayed for 3 nights and I can honestly say it is the best B&B I have stayed in. It is more akin to a 5* hotel.
