I had lunch at The Drunken Duck - a 400-year-old inn & one of the Lake District's best gastropubs. The food was excellent & service was attentive without being intrusive. The interior is homely, all in all an excellent location to unwind being perched high...More

We dined her for several nights during our visit and found the service to be polite and friendly, not too long to wait (even though each night it was very busy), food was excellent (every course) and portion sizes were not huge but certainly didn't leave you hungry! The menu would be limited if you don't like fancy food- If you're looking for simple food you may struggle. But it isn't a pub meal-it's quality food and ingredients put together well in an adventurous manner. The price reflects this and it's no more expensive that any other quality eatery around Ambleside or the Lakes.
