Let me first state the staff and setting are lovely. However, it is many years since I visited this Inn, and then they had the most amazing selection of British grub, just what you need after a hike. What happened to locally sourced Cumberland sausage and lamb chops? My sister and I didn't fancy anything from the menu but my...

We stayed here for a night in September 2016 but I have put off writing a review as I knew it would be negative and I don't like to do that. However, having just returned from staying somewhere else in the Lake District, I again feel that it was disappointing and overpriced for what was offered and the menu choice...

Stopped in the Drunken Duck Inn during our circular Windermere walk.Only had drinks but the food looked good. Very comfortable bar areas and good, prompt service.Menu looked very nice but a bit pricier than elsewhere.

Nice location, friendly helpful staff and the garden room is very comfortable and quiet. Sadly the sitting room is no longer open and the cream teas have been dropped for a cupcake. The bar area is very convivial with a really good selection of beers and spirits. We felt menu whilst having good ingredients was rather pretentious. Still overall well...

Been coming to the duck for years and it never disappoints! Our room was upgraded for my birthday - food was fab and service excellent. Best scenery of anywhere in the lakes and you can toast it with reasonably priced champagne by the glass! The rooms have been refurbished in the courtyard with fab colour schemes, roll top baths and...

We stayed at the Drunken Duck Inn in April 2016. We booked a standard double room, above the inn, for one night. The room was comfortable, although had some shabby furniture, in particular the chest of drawers, bath no shower but with lovely views. Having a bath and no shower for one night was fine, the water comes from the...

Privately owned and thoughtfully developed over 30 years, this Inn has everything for enjoying this beautiful part of the country. Rooms first - I had the standard courtyard room and was very happy. Clean with nice country inn decor, very comfy bed and lovely linen. You can spend as much as you like with views, suites and all sorts. Food...

Staying a night at the Drunken Duck with friends is a great experience, but you do pay for the privilege. It's a traditional British Pub in a pretty spectacular location. Accordingly the rooms are quite small, but perfectly comfortable. It was built at a time when views weren't important, so it doesn't make best use of its location. The food,...

We spent a lovely week in the Lakes and went to the Drunken Duck twice! We enjoyed a nice meal with my parents & my husband & I went back for a light lunch. The evening meal was very pleasant, tasty, good quality food in comfortable surroundings. Perhaps a little on the pricey side. Lunch was also very good &...

This place came highly recommended so four of us paid a visit for a Sunday afternoon drink. The setting is excellent, high over Ambleside. The pub itself is quirky with lots of interesting objets d`art, with newspapers and books to browse. What let it down for us was the attitude of the female bar staff who was curt, abrupt and...
