Accidentally stumbled across The Drunken Duck on our way back from a walk round the tarn! I had read about it lots in magazines and places to eat in the Lakes and was not disappointed! The interior is unquestionably English with a roaring stove keeping you warm after a chilly walk and is accompanied with a beautiful menu, both food...

We visited the Drunken Duck on our mini-moon in January. We originally booked in for dinner on the Wednesday but soon realised how good the food was and returned the following night! Service is exceptional, as is the beer and the food is excellent. My wife and I worked our way through the menu- particular highlights were the faggot, the...

Had a wonderful evening here with my other half. Food was excellent and service was on point. I had the kimchi broth with dumplings for starters followed by the cod. Both were delicious and the flavours in the broth were particularly notable. Dessert could have done with a little refinement (treacle tart) but was still very good. Great food, drinks,...

Stayed this week for a three night break . The service , ambience and accommodation was outstanding. A friendly welcome greeted us on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for the staff . Helpful and informative when asked for advice on local walks which given the beautiful weather were fantastic. Room was comfortable, so worth upgrading to superior room...

My wife and I spent a fabulous few days at the Drunken Duck, walking in the day and making up for it in the evening. Lovely food, a really comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff. We will certainly be going back and can't recommend it highly enough.

Popped in for a spot of lunch having been recommended it. Great location with some fantastic views over the fields. It's a great gastro pub but still retains a local warm pub feel. The fishfinger sandwich was delicious and was washed down with a local ale. Had a lovely time and will return on our next visit to the lakes.

Great bar food and ale in a great location and cannot think of a better place in the Lakes. We had not been for a while and was apprehensive whether it would still be as good , but need not have worried - as although we only had lunch on New years Eve , it was the best meal all...

The duck is always a special place to visit - with very warm welcome, fine range of beers, and food which never fails to please. This Christmas - it was the beef stew and dumplings ! A finer stew and soft filling dumplings you could not imagine. Combined with a very dog friendly and dog tolerant approach - well worth...

Stunning service nothing a problem. Generous food cooked deliciously. Huge range of home brewed speciality beers which my husband highly rated. Personally I preferred the gin selection; rhubarb and ginger ale was a new one on me! Rooms okay but not overly roomy, quite dark as well given rather cloudy skies during our stay. If you love to spend your...
