Arrived after a long drive, and was welcomed and shown around. We stayed in room 6, which we found to be clean and well presented. There was ample tea and coffee makings, plus a microwave and a toaster. We weren't there long enough to make use of those facilities. The bath and shower were excellent, loads of hot water. The...

Property retaining its original character and detailing in quite a smart, mature area of large properties fronting a tree-lined road with more trees and well-maintained grass on the wide central reservation - attractive with the trees coming into leaf and in blossom. The first thing I noticed on entering was a "help yourself" bowl of fruit on a hall table...

£60 for twin room, including breakfast. Janet is a lovely host. We stayed in the twin room. We didn't spend much time at the guest house, but found the room cosy and had everything we needed. It was easy to find as it is on a main road. I had a good nights sleep - firm mattress with blanket and...

Dear Richard and Julie, I would like to thank you for our brilliant 4 days away. It was so so peaceful, tranquil and relaxing which was perfect for our needs due to both working full time in our hectic jobs. The cabin got lovely and warm in no time with the log burner and the solar lights lasted from dusk...

My wife and I stayed here, and had a lovely time. We were in room 6, which had tonnes of room to relax in, and a nice spacious shower. Janet was very helpful on the phone when we made the booking, and was there in the morning as we ate breakfast. She was also accommodating and let us check out...

Brilliant one night stay whilst visiting son at university. Well appointed room, with all you could want for a much longer stay( I could have lived there!). My son was even welcomed to breakfast, which was superb. I hope to return on my next trip to see my boy!

We stayed last weekend, a last minute booking. We looked around for somewhere suitable and couldn't believe the low price charged by Janet at the Acorn. Preferable to a generic chain hotel in every way. We had room 6 which is at the front of the building overlooking the busy road, we had the window open all night and slept...

Just got back from a short break in Hull staying at the Acorn Guest House. We had a lovely spacious room with a very comfy bed and a fridge, microwave and toaster as well as the tea/coffee making facility. There was also an iron and ironing board in a cupboard in the room. The slight down side to our room...
