Detailed Reviews
I used the hotel for an overnight stay after an event at the nearby Forum. Easy to find and plenty of parking. A warm welcome at check in and appreciated being shown to the room. The room was well appointed with everything fitting the Western theme but not in a cheesy way. I appreciated the Tassimo machine alongside the usual kettle. The bed was nice, fairly firm, mattress and plenty of plump pillows. Plenty of lights and sockets including USB charge ports. The bathroom was large with a generous shower unit and bottled toiletries rather than just a dispenser on the wall. Had a very comfortable night and breakfast was served from 7.30 all the way to noon. Service was just as cheerful and the breakfast menu was in the american theme and throughly enjoyable. With a noon checkout time I was able to use the room and free wifi for a morning's work making the stay relaxing an unhurried. Can heartily recommend.

We were in the Sioux room which was lovely. I personally found the bed really uncomfortable and woke up with back pain, I'm used to a softer mattress. The room was clean and theme was great. Heater in the room was really good and shower was high pressure, not like most hotels. I was a bit concerned it was going to be loud as we could hear downstairs before we went down for dinner but it settled around 10pm so wasn't an issue. The corridor is very loud and creaky or it was just people stomping, but again that settled.
Breakfast included was okay, however, they had no eggs and I really wanted brioche French toast.

We have just come back from a brilliant 2 night stay. We brought my in laws as my father in law was from the town and moved away in the early 70’s and we wanted him to catch up with family & see the area while he still could. He remembered the station from when it was open as a child plus he used to go there when it became a restaurant in the 90’s.
We were all very impressed with how beautifully the building has been restored. The country American theme did actually seem to sit quite well with the lovely brick & although some may say it could be tacky, we didn’t think so.
The rooms were a good size, clean, nicely decorated, decent bed and no noise! Our room was right above the bar and I am a light sleeper and I heard nothing from the bar or outside. The in laws had a room to the front & they did not hear anything, not even the traffic.
The staff were all fabulous. Friendly, warm, knowledgable patient and kind. Not just the bar or serving staff but also the cleaning ladies, one of which took time to talk to us all about the station clock and find out more info.
The breakfasts were really good! In fact all of the food was very good.
Location is great, just a 3 minute walk to the pantiles and there is plenty of parking.
I would not hesitate to stay again. Recommended.

I am lying in bed writing this at 11:30pm with music still blaring through our hotel room. I understand it is a bar but it closes at 11 and is still so loud!!!
No only that, we came to our room about 9:45 to relax and ontop of the blaring music was a rumbling sound. We called reception at 10pm to ask if someone could investigate and was told someone would be right up. No one did! We called again at half past and told someone would be right up. No one did! I had to go to reception at 10:45 for someone to finally come upstairs to tell us it was the extractor fans from the kitchen. It's really poor service. I have paid over 100 pound on a room that's like sleeping in a disco on an aircraft.
DO NOT STAY HERE! You have been warned.
The only good thing was the food was nice but its been totally ruined by unacceptable sound levels and being ignored.

We decided to visit the restaurant for lunch and were sorely disappointed. We went in at just after 1:30pm and the place was pretty deserted apart from a couple other tables. Once sat down we ordered our drinks which didn't show up until 20-30 minutes after ordering them which is terrible service considering the place was empty and there was plenty of staff on. Before our drinks arrived we had a server come and take our food order. At this point we were probably the only table in the restaurant, we ordered our food and were waiting for a rather long time. The food finally arrived after we waited around 50 to 70 minutes and not only was the service terrible but the quality of the food was more than poor. All the food was either burnt or extremely dry considering the dishes we had ordered were not meant to be like that. The check back was then done and this was done before we had even had a chance to start eating our food. The majority of the dishes were either untouched or barely eaten due to the unpleasant quality of the food. When it came to the bill we asked for some money off due to the untouched dishes and the quality of the food. We were then quizzed as to why we didn't say something when they did the check back. The member of staff then went and got a more senior member of staff who was quite rude in the way she behave towards us asking for money back on a horrible and shocking experience, we were not given any money off our final bill and when we were asked why we didn't ask for a new dish at the check back and they would of got it sorted yet we didn't fancy waiting another hour for one dish and also that one person would have not had food and the rest of us would of. The customer service, quality of food and the manner of the staff we interacted with was an absolute car crash and would not recommend because if its like this when its practically empty then you don't want to imagine what its like when its busy

On arrival we were met with a building looking like something from Toy Story. If honest, I thought this is not my bag!
On entering the building we were met by a lovely member of staff who although was very busy serving other customers made sure we knew he would help us as soon a possible.
We stayed for a single evening, this included a morning breakfast.
We were shown to our cowboy themed room, very clean, tidy, white fluffy towels, shampoo, soap etc provided. Everything was clearly explained and all our questions were answered with regards to the local area attractions.
We both enjoyed a first-class quiet sleep on a comfortable bed.
The following morning we enjoyed a suburb breakfast, unlimited food and drinks although we do not have big appetites. Again, the staff member, who we met on arrival, was excellent and is a credit to your company. His name is Tiago. He's an incredibly hard-working member of staff who should be valued.
In summary, my initial thoughts were very incorrect so if you want to stay somewhere close to the shops etc, give this place go. It's fun and very friendly.

We stayed for two nights and loved it. The building was amazing. An enormous old railway station, turned into the wild west. Sounds tacky but not at all. It seems there was no expense spared in the conversion. The wild west is everywhere, yet the character of the stunning Victorian station is still maintained.
We stayed in the Sioux room (apparently people find it difficult to pronounce!). The room was clean and comfortable, the western theme still flows through. An extra little touch is a machine in each room for freshly brewed coffee.
Breakfast was included and like lunch, was delicious - again with an American theme.
The location couldn't be more perfect. Just a few steps to The Pantiles and town centre.
Having said all this, any establishment is only is as good as its staff and I have to say that I have never stayed anywhere with such friendly and attentive staff. Everyone of them was amazing and the manager was only too pleased to chat about the building and its history and ultimate conversion into the theme.
I can't understand the negative reviews because we would definitely recommend and would have no hesitation in re-booking.

Finally met up with family for a Christmas dinner, first time at their Tunbridge restaurant, chosen as it was roughly equal distance away for each of us.
To start, drinks ordered, two of our party ordered a bottle of Shiraz, after a wait, they were eventually told they had no red wine at all, ok, we'll have a bottle of rosé then, came back with a bottle of white wine, then third time lucky, the rosé arrived, but we were also charged for the bottle of shiraz we didn't get. Glasses of drink arrived that weren't asked for, and advised they were from another table, but weren't wanted by them, in light of covid, probably not the greatest idea to give guests items from other peoples tables.
Food, not great: a medium rare fillet steak - arrived well done and covered in peppercorns. Asked for home fries instead of mash, but still arrived with mash. Home fries on another order were undercooked and hard. Childs macaroni cheese, arrived as plain macaroni with a tiny bit of cheese grated on top. Desserts: the fruit in the berry sundaes was still frozen solid, another dessert arrived that wasn't ordered.
We've been to various Smith and Western restaurants, and have always been very happy, but this was a big let down for us, a lot of money for a less than average experience.

Quaint hotel to stay in,
Pluses good location, great free parking, all food was tasty and plentiful, staff friendly and efficient. Best hotel shower i’ve ever had !
Negative, we were told after we had paid for our evening meal, that as we were residents we could have got 15% of the meal, but as we booked the meal on cheek in the server should have been aware. Shame he didn’t offer any recompense.

Checking in at 10pm the welcome from Marina, was second to none, helping me take luggage up the room and ensuring I had everything I needed .
I was in Cheyenne , fab, sweets by bed, coffee machine, kettle, toiletries , fluffy towels, bottled water , very clean, comfortable bed and lovely large room.
Breakfast was amazing , as a hotel guest you can have anything on breakfast menu plus continental in addition ( not that I think you need it) great coffee and juice
Morning waitress was Annabelle , super friendly and efficient
In times when hospitality is understaffed, the staff here seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and that came over in the way they greeted their guests, NOTHING was too much trouble !
smith and Western top job, would certainly visit again , Thank you

The stairs were average for the UK, its an old building, they were split into 2 parts in a dog leg. They are wide though so it would be possible to help someone up if required.
Yes, there are hairdryers suoolied in our rooms
