A warm, welcoming lovely place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I will certainly stay there again. Canterbury is a must for those who are interested in history, enjoy the theatre, eating out and shopping.

Canterbury for us is a home from home and every time we go back we make sure we visit the White House too. Adrian is an absolute delight - friendly, welcoming and extremely hospitable. Not only is the location of the White House spot on with it being located directly behind the Marlowe Theatre but within 300 yards if that...

Only stayed one night but service and accommodation were excellent. The B&B is located right in the city centre so was perfect for us. Clean, well furnished and one of the tastiest breakfasts we've ever enjoyed, so top marks Adrian & Sharon. We will be returning.

Once again, we were very pleased with everything at The White House and would definitely recommend it. It is is spotless and each room has everything you could want for a short stay in Canterbury. It's location is ideal as it is near all the main shopping areas, the Cathedral and the Marlowe Theatre. Adrian gives all his guests a...

We decided to have a night away before Christmas and decided on Canterbury. From the minute we arrived we loved it. The White House is spotlessly clean and the room was very well appointed. I would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone who wants a great place to stay. The breakfast was very well made and presented.

We stayed for one night. I would have given a 5 star review but the street noise prevented it. The owner called me the day before our arrival and gave very helpful directions to help us find details the location. The White House is very comfortable. We stayed in Room 6 at the top of the building. The room and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you enjoy staying in stylish accommodation, with all those extra little personal touches that make you feel special as a guest, then welcome to The White House. The property is an elegant Grade II listed Regency Town House, originally reputed to have been the retirement home of Queen Victoria's Head Coachman and built in 1825. Our 4 Star Highly Commended accommodation is especially suited to discerning guests seeking a small intimate property (regrettably we do not cater for children) and its ideal location, within the City walls, is an added bonus for those who enjoy soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of a University city and who appreciate good old fashioned personal service to the impersonality of national hotel chains. Rooms are furnished to ensure maximum guest comfort - large cosy beds to fall into after a hard days sightseeing, soft pillows, with cool contemporary white linens and quality furnishings to ensure a real 'home from home'. A few minutes walk (literally!) will take you right into the main High Street, so we are perfectly situated to browse all the best shops, restaurants and of course a 'must see' visit to the Cathedral and perhaps take in a show at the stunning new Marlowe Theatre.Parking couldn't be easier - across the road in the Pound Lane Car Park - with concessionary vouchers available to our guests at £6.00 for 24 hours ... more   less
