Staff here are so friendly and accommodating. Accommodation is basic but clean and well maintained and the beds are extremely comfortable. A good location just on the edge of Hereford but within a short drive of the centre. Free parking is a bonus. Nice to find a hotel that still prepares breakfast to order. Would stay again if in the area.

Have stayed here a few times and the staff are always very knoweldgeable and friendly. The rooms very clean and comfortable and most of all warm when its cold outside. The serivce is always very good and they make you feel very welcome - even when I booked in to stay on Boxing Day and couldn't arrive til very late they were welcoming.

Hotel was good for price, room was spacious clean. Staff at desk we’re lovely and helpful. Unfortunately a party in the Hotel caused a lot of disturbing noise with people swearing loudly banging doors shouting etc in the corridor to the very early hours, keeping us awake most of the night. People just enjoying themselves, but the rooms are far from sound proof unfortunately.

Having attended in previous years we were looking forward to a great evening. Sadly the service was poor, 2/3 of starters arrived and then the staff moved on to another groups main course service! Main courses arrived and I had to request vegetables. All veg was over cooked and verging on grey in colour. As for dessert ... we had opted for the 8 pm sit down time - bad move it seems. The dessert table was not replenished and so by the time it was our turn, many things were completely gone and anything that was left was very much a mess; after having been through 2 sittings. As stated our company had been attending party nights at this venue for approximately 10 years - the DJ has always been excellent. This years DJ was appalling - after every track he spoke and interspersed what could be called party songs with various requests by bands such as the Cult! NO flow and cleared the dance floor time after time. Service at the bar was also sadly lacking - the staff were clearly trying but for the number of guests 3 staff was vastly inadequate. The bar area could easily be staffed by 4/5 staff - I personally stood at the bar for sometimes 20 minutes at a time. When we asked why it seemed so disorganised/lacking we were told 'well its closing soon' Very sad state of affairs for what had once been Hereford's premier venue. In total the company bill was in excess of £2000 and we most certainly did not had £2000 worth of food/service/party.

Staff were really friendly, location is fine but the hotel it’s self is awful. It’s really grubby - dust everywhere, cobwebs and don’t walk barefoot on the bedroom carpets. I did and my feet were covered in long hairs. It really is bad. For over £100 a night I’d have expected better. Food was pretty poor too.

Positives: Friendly staff, adequately clean room, comfy bed, plenty of hot water and good shower pressure, ample breakfast buffet. Negatives: Only BBC channels available and the WiFi was poor. I stayed in a "garden room" which was more in the car park than the garden. Massive spider webs under the walkways to the rooms. No fan or bottled water provided in the recent heatwave. The dated room was unbearably hot and I couldn't leave the door open as the room was outdoors like a Pontins chalet. Window would only open a crack, which is unnecessary in a ground floor room! As a result I didn't sleep a wink due to the stifling temperature in the room! Breakfast was okay however the coffee area was filthy and I had to ask the staff to refill various things three times despite them being stood there watching it run out!

If guests go on this site a write a negative review they must be living in one of the royal palaces. My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Our chalet style room was very comfortable. We attended a function on the Friday evening and the quality of the buffet was very , very good. We had 2 nights on a b and b basis. The breakfast bar and the cooked items were again very good. We ate Saturday evening in the restaurant and again very good. Now the staff . If you want service that goes the extra yard then this is THE place. Booking. Com messed up my reservation thanks to Sian this was sorted. Now the other staff. Besides Sian a big thank you to Wendy, Danni, Diane, Michaela (?), David, Diane and Milla(the chef) and anybody else behind the scenes that all did their bit to make our stay a great one. Get down to Hereford and stay here. Thank you.

I have just spent a lovely weekend here with mum and sister (planned two years ago, cancelled three times for different reasons) it was brilliant! Rumour has it that it is being taken over and bought by a supermarket- this cannot happen! It is beautiful location for weddings, it is central to the town (easy bus route) McDonald’s is literally a two minute walk away! …staff are really outstanding , breakfast worth every penny, dietary requirements catered for- free bus travel at the weekends! The cathedral is beautiful and in the town centre! ….. the road where people are driving into McDonald’s is busy anyway with a super market and cafe on top of this will cause too many accidents ….. please share to keep this hotel open!

I have just led a group of sixteen golfers to stay at this hotel for a three day weekend. We were looked after very well from start to finish and given a separate area in which to have our meals. The food was per ordered on arrival for the first night and then subsequently on the Saturday morning for the evening. There was a good choice, high quality and certainly plenty of it! Service was very friendly and prompt. A similar comment in the bar where there was a good choice of lagers and a very quaffable Ludlow bitter. Our rooms were single accommodation doubles and were both comfortable and quiet. There is lots of car parking and generally right outside individual rooms. The overall experience was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to other trip organisers.

I booked this hotel as a special weekend for my husband’s 70th birthday. Receptionist greeted us warmly and gave us the key to our room. We tested the bed before we unpacked and went straight back to reception. It was so soft that we would have rolled in to the middle. We tried five different rooms and settled on a twin room. We both woke up in the morning with a bad back. We went back to reception and was told there were no better rooms. We decided to check out and went and stayed at a premier inn. We have tried to get a refund for the two nights that we didn’t stay, but the management have not got in touch with us after numerous calls to them. Would I recommend this hotel. Certainly not.
