This review is of the bar area NOT the hotel accommodation. A crowded pub with all bar and restaurant seats reserved or taken by 12:30 on a Saturday but we found a quiet bright extension at the back with empty tables. Good ale and tasty 'Hampshire sausage' baguettes were consumed with pleasure in this quiet corner of a popular pub....

A picture frame with our name greeted us on our table. Can't fault our server, the food, the service or location right in the centre of Winchester, within just a few yards of Winchester Cathedral. Definitely worth a visit but no Roast on Sundays; probably the only thing I could suggest to offer your guests.

popped in here on spec after looking round the cathedral lovely atmosphere and the food was of a good standard with a modern twist on traditional pub food. The service was also very good and the location is ideal for central Winchester

This pub is perfectly positioned in the centre of Winchester. The pub itself was always bustling during our stay, but service was friendly and the food was good. We stayed in the Design House Suite at the top of the hotel and were able to have breakfast delivered to our door each morning at no additional cost - that really...

Lovely atmosphere overlooking the cathedral No Sunday roast but varied menu. Pork schnitzel, mash and Madeira sauce. Wonderful sauce. Desserts were excellent, French Apple tart and ice cream also chocolate melting sponge. Couldn't fault them. Would visit again.

We recently visited Winchester England, and ate at "The Old Vine". We had eaten there over a year ago while visiting to attend our daughter's wedding. Once again, we ate in the Pub portion because we had forgotten that the restaurant portion often fills up; however, the Pub is delightful. We had the fish sandwich with salad; and it was...

We had the Osborne and Little room, which was big and comfortable, though you do hear the bar downstairs during pub opening hours (last orders is only at 11 though). There was plenty of room for our baby's cot (which the hotel supplied gratis). The room was also well equipped with a Nespresso machine, lots of teas, water, complimentary Luscombe...

We booked 5 out of 6 rooms and a celebratory meal for 11 and the service and food were excellent from start to finish, including accommodating gluten free menu choices for one. Rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated to high standard. Staff were friendly and attentive despite the very busy fireworks weekend. The location was excellent right opposite the Cathedral...

We arrived early and had to check in at the bar which was packed with Christmas lunch-time crowd. Nevertheless we were promptly attend too. The room wouldn't be ready til our appointed check-in time, but our bags were taken and stored. When we returned the room was ready as promised. The room designed by Nina Campbell, was huge with ante-room,...
