We were given 2-course lunch vouchers as a Christmas present. The voucher specified a 2 course lunch (for two) and 1 year time limit in which to redeem it. The lunch menu comprised of a choice of three: starters, mains and sweets. The standard of food and service was very good although the soup starter was minute. We decided to...

My wife and I stayed recently for two nights in one of the suites to the side of this beautiful, elegant hotel. The bedroom was spacious and airy and the lounge had a door opening onto an area of lawn surrounded by trees; wonderful having room service breakfast there in the morning sunshine. Everything about this hotel is perfect; from...

A real gem of a hotel. Facilities, location, vista and attention to detail are second to none. 10 minutes by taxi to Winchester station. Rooms are furnished to a very high standard, and the beds are one of the comfiest hotel beds I have ever stayed in. Quality and presentation of food is superb. Not cheap, but you definitely get...

Everything about this hotel was excellent! My husband and I arrived at the hotel at night after deciding we couldn't stay at the first hotel we booked cause the sheets were dirty, bathroom wasn't so clean either... long story. The first wonderful service we received was at the reception. On arriving, we realised we had forgotten a bag at the...

Good, old-fashioned service provided with a modern smile in beautiful surroundings. We stayed for an anniversary weekend having been there a couple of years ago. Immediately we wondered why we had left it so long. Everything is provided and nothing is too much trouble for a very attentive staff. We won't leave it so long till our next visit and...

This is a lovely hotel. Staff are very attentive and can't do enough for you. Rooms are nicely furnished and restaurant food and service also good. Highly recommend this place. They have a cute resident owl that you can interact with. I will be going back

Slight whinge, When booking on the telephone, I asked, as per usual for me, and was assured that a table for six in the window overlooking the garden, would be available....After drinks in the Bar we were shown to a table by the door...no view, and a muted apology followed... We had a good set two course lunch, which was...

We viewed half a dozen or so properties for our wedding venue and chose Lainston House for its immediate warmth. From the carpark the building looks gorgeous, and walking up to the house just makes you feel as though you're in a world miles away, tucked away in the countryside, when in fact you're very conveniently located for the M3,...

Standard statement regarding this and all my reviews: I have for some time struggled with the Trip Advisor rating system on the basis that it does not provide a particularly granular method or any useful context for hotel reviews (for example a 5 star review for an impromptu stop at a Formule 1 is is very different to a 5...

This is a really lgood hotel. The rooms are great, the staff our lovely and it"s website really doesn't do it justice. There are tennis courts and the small falconry area is great fun. This is as a "country house hotel" should be. Bravo
