I was travelling down to Poole when I decided to pull off the A34 and find somewhere to eat as it was getting on a bit and didn't want to wait till I got to my hotel. Just followed a sign post for The Running Horse and so glad I did. Travelling all over the UK, I eat in many...

Chose the RH for overnight stay whilst visiting winchester. Chose due to rosette rating. Little dissapointed with the menu, but the quality was good, just lacked a little on the presentation. Dining area nicely decorated and informal. They had a trainee helping out on the tables so we had to wait and ask for the wine menu. The bedrooms are seperate from the...

Lovely surroundings, good food with friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable taxi ride to city centre. Comfortable bar area with lots of atmosphere. Winchester was an interesting place so hope visit again soon.

We returned to this lovely pub/hotel as we said we would! We came to Winchester again for Mothers Day weekend and had a lovely stay at The running Horse. We arrived on the Saturday night and asked if they could cater for us, my youngest daughter has severe multiple food allergies, Craig, the chef was quite fantastic, as was the...

The running horse is a nice place to stay with comfortable rooms clean and tidy all rooms have showers so no baths here, its in the country but not far from towns and cities. The food can be quite fancy and is great if you like it that way. I have stayed here several times and would recommend this hotel...

My husband and I stayed here the night of our wedding. Rooms are a good size and comfortable beds. The shower heads dripped for a long time after use which was very frustrating! However we had a comfortable stay and would stay again. Breakfast was nice, but not mind blowing!

Second visit to the area and second visit to the running horse. Went for an evening meal on Friday. Lovely atmosphere, good service and great food. Would return again. Reasonably priced and adequate portions.

Very great breakfast, friendly, helpful service. Bit noisy in the morning (our room was nearest to the pub). Happy for us to sit in the pub all afternoon while we caught up with friends. My husband said the beer was good!

Visited this establishment for a two nighter in superior room and not disappointed as lovely bedroom . The pub/restaurant also top notch and locals bar staff. Dry friendly and helpful. Had pigs cheeks on Saturday night and this meal was excellent so I made comment of praise to the chef. Can't fault this place as a base to explore Winchester

Went here for a family meal on a Sunday. Lovely little place. Good parking and nice staff. However when our food came it was small portions and I ordered a roast, food was cold but it wasn't warm either. Don't think I'll be having a meal here again. Seemed nice enough inside to go for a quite drink but that...

Good Evening ISAACDCRDA I appreciate you taking the time to review your Sunday lunch here last week. I do not recall any complaints during that Sunday lunch service, perhaps you felt you could not bring your displeasure to my attention on the day. We are confident that the portion sizes of the roasts reflect the price point that we charge...
