We stayed at this hotel as it was my sons 18th birthday and had booked an experience close by. The location was perfect and if you’re lucky enough to park at the hotel car park, then most things are walking distance which provides a relief. The hotel itself was well maintained, looked smart and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The common areas were always clean and fresh smelling, and all staff I interacted with were friendly and happy to help. The room was a nice size and spotlessly clean. A large tv on the wall and the beds were super comfortable. I have to say the shower was perfect too. We stayed on a warm day with outside temperatures getting to 28 degrees. I don’t mind the heat but the room was sweltering. The windows only open a little due to regulations and there is no air conditioning. I showered and within 20 mins was hot and sweaty again. Consequently, didn’t sleep well. There was a desk top fan in the room but this provides little relief and could barely be felt. It also just blew around hot air as you’d expect. This wasn’t the staff members fault and if it wasn’t for this I would have felt my stay was perfect. In the car park, I did see a fair few rats running around after dark but this is a problem in Southampton rather than the hotel itself, so don’t be alarmed. The breakfast was OK. We had the full breakfast and there was choice but not as much as other places we’ve stayed. There was plenty and we didn’t go hungry. Staff were again, amazing. Great location, clean, friendly and rooms a great size it was just the hot temperature at night that caused us problems. …
Lovely clean hotel, very safe. Stayed for 1 night prior to our cruise, everything was good. Food was nice. There were some guests in the restaurant getting a little rowdy which I felt the staff could’ve tried to calm as others were trying to enjoy dinner apart from that everything was really good and we would stay again
The hotel room was clean and tidy but the bathroom fan made a noise and it’s superbly noisy outside on the road (I had a front room). The communal areas definitely need a spruce up - the walls need to be repainted and the carpets need to be cleaned. The car park really needs to be fixed. It looks terrible and the bins were overflowing. Yes you need to pay for parking but most hotels in Southampton charge you for this. That said, staff were really friendly and it’s a good location.
Excellent position to access cruise terminal and walk into the city centre. Rooms are comfortable, clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Could do with better signage for car park as the entrance is concealed.
Could not fault, stayed here night before sailing from Southampton and the staff were excellent and all worked extremely hard to make sure everyone was happy, room was lovely and food very nice to I do recommend this hotel for a nights stay. A few reviews moan about the railway track right outside yes you can here it going by but not enough to leave bad reviews all in all a nice stay
If you are new to Premier Inn, Southampton the aircon is BROKEN in certain rooms and if you don't ask for aircon SORRY you will probably be unlucky with your room. DON'T ASK, DON'T GET we were told. It was so hot we could hardly breath and had to stay completely still. 2 fans and one by my head made not a bit of difference. Literally just outside the 3 layers of open windows was the was the train track below. Trains all night every 5 - 10 mins BANGING, RATTLING, SQEAKING - ALL NIGHT LONG. Stuffy horrible hot weather. MANAGER AND STAFF YOU COULD SEE THEY JUST HAD TO GEAR UP FOR THE SELLING PITCH ON WHY IT WAS NOT THERE FAULT. They said they were not going to get it repaired until the following year. WE LOOKED LIKE WE HAD COME OUT OF AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE IN THE MORNING. FREE NICE BREAKFAST WAS ALL THAT WAS OFFERED. £180 FOR 1 NIGHTS STAY AND £10 FOR THE CAR PARK EXTRA. VERY DISAPPOINTING.…
Stayed over for 2 nights in a family room with 2 kids as we were going to peppa pig world which is only 20 minutes drive away. The room was clean and tidy. Plenty of towels. The restaurant upstairs was nice. Basic set up. Staff were attentive and the food was nice. Breakfast was good aswell. We chose not to have our room serviced as it was only a 2 night stay but requested clean towels and got them. The hotel was quiet inside. This is not a complaint as it in no way made the stay unpleasant its more of a heads up as i seen people complain about noise on other reviews, please remember it is CITY CENTRE so the sirens and traffic noise wasnt a surprise. Happy with the stay overall Only 1 recommendation and again it isnt a complaint is to replinish the cups and tea coffees each day. Maybe they do and just missed us however i got some from reception. Unlikely to be in Southampton again but if ever there again I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.…
This isn't our first stay at a premier inn and it wont be the last. Brilliant value from caring friendly staff. Due to cruise again in October and will definitely be booking another pre cruise stay at the Southampton city centre premier inn.
I don’t normally give a review, however I don’t want others to have to be misled like I was, and charged what I was. Do NOT stay here, if you want a clean room, that has polite staff and working air conditioning. The room is also next to a main train line that gets really busy with long freight trains, that go all night long. I loved the main entrance sign the had the air conditioning ‘rubbed out’ and the staff saying the hotel never had air conditioning, and that the controls in the room are for display only. Never again.
Great location for our purpose, great breakfast and friendly staff. Good free wifi and very clean premises with 24/7 staff availability. However, no toiletries, slightly overpriced for the quality of services received, and unacceptable very expensive parking!
