My friends and I stayed here for two days before beginning a cruise. The hotel is average. The bar and restaurant are better but the park next door is a gem. The breakfast buffet (included) was very nice and easily outclassed most if not all of the 3 star competition. The room was comfortable and clean but the bathroom needs to be gutted and brought into the 21st century.
The location of the hotel is central and it’s only a few minutes walk downtown Southampton. The room was quite basic but clean and the bed comfy. I didn’t have any meals or drinks as I opted to eating out but everything looked good from a distance. I was booked for 4 nights and the first 3 nights there was so much noise from the cleaning girls who were working till about midnight. I don’t blame them as they were doing their job but it meant that as a guest who was after a good rest and chill out time I couldn’t have that. They were dragging hoovers around and banging doors and talking to each other and so unfortunately there was no ‘stay happy’ for me as you advertise yourself. It was only the 4th night (my last night) that the girls finished the cleaning in our corridor around 9pm and I managed to sleep better that particular night. I know it is busy at this time of the year but perhaps the hotel can employ more staff to do cleaning and finish in good time so that guests can ‘Stay Happy’. Not happy this time as I was looking forward to my break.…
Great location , we stayed here to visit Peppa pig world . Which was about 20 minutes drive to . So perfect hotel to stay . We parked in kings road car park . Which was very reasonable as you don’t pay from 18.00 to 8.30 am . So we had arrived at 17.30 so paid for 3 hours and that took us through till 9.30 the next morning . Only cost us a few pounds ! Rooms were good , restaurant was good . Lovely touch for the kids … on arrival had activity bags and also offered a cinema screening between 6-8 for the kids with popcorn . Although we didn’t use as was too tired after doing the park. Only negatives with hotel was They ran out of apple juice and tomato ketchup Which for a large hotel , you’d think would be stocked up well enough . Tomato ketchup … pretty popular And £6 for room service thought was quite steep add on . Apart from those little niggles , would still recommend and would defo return again .…
The room was stayed in was great (mostly). Jury's Inn rooms are always nice and big, with a comfortable bed, and this one was no different, although the bed did squeak a bit. It was clean and tidy and the bathroom okay. The shower wasn't that powerful and there wasn't much room to lay out your bathroom stuff, but it did the job. The restaurant, however, was not great. We were seated promptly, and it appeared that only a few other tables were occupied, but it was ages before someone came to take our order. Then the food arrived before the drinks and we had to flag a waiter down half way through out meal to ask where our drinks were. When we ordered, my husband wanted a beer, but they had completely run out of all beer except for non-alcoholic. Seriously, they were a pub with no beer! So we ordered two pints of coke, one diet, one not. What eventually arrived was two halfs of coke, both diet. I didn't drink mine. Then they tried to charge us for the two pints. They really weren't that busy, so these sort of mistakes are not explainable, just shoddy. Also, finding the car park is a nightmare. We drove around in a big circle a few times before we found it, and that was with a sat nav!…
Parking was a nightmare for such a large hotel you had a drop off point for three cars and during our stay two spaces were occupied permanently by two cars. Very warm welcome once we park and staff were genuinely attentive and friendly apart for the bar staff who we found quite rude. Hotel was clean but plumbing needs sorting out, running toilets and gurgling drains. Food options are limited and expensive, Breakfast was very good but dinning area far to small for a big hotel, but again staff really good. Room keys kept losing their config, we were locked out at least three times and witnessed other guests with the same issue. Overall good but as a brand disappointed
We were moved to this hotel due to a sister hotel not receiving our booking & being full - not a great start to our holiday. We’ve stayed here before and it was okay but disappointing this time. I E given two stars - 2.5 more accurate - between poor and average. Room was disappointing - refurbishment needed and not clean. Mildew stains in bathroom, wall stained and crumbs & hair clips on carpet. Not nice - fortunately only staying briefly for one night. Two extremely small double beds. Air conditioning not working in bar and restaurant - hideous. Neither seemed overly busy (nor at breakfast) & there seemed to be a good number of staff however it was chaotic. Some staff did make a great effort to be fair. Some were new. Food average - Caesar salad nicest. Kids menu good but I E cream sandwich came with strawberry ice cream rather than the vanilla described - was sorted but why do this?? Breakfast average - reasonable not extensive selection. Some items lacked tongs/proper cleanliness etc. Topping things up a challenge which is always annoying. Apparently poached eggs available (saw someone order) but we were not advised of this. Location on a roundabout however we had a high room & was very quiet. Wouldn’t use in future unless had to.…
We stayed here as part of our Paultons Park short break. Its quite difficult to find parking for, and we had to make a 10 minute walk with all of our stuff and it was very tricky to cross the road safely! When we arrived reception was absoltuely boiling in there. The staff were very polite and we had colouring in activity pack for our 2 girls and they gave us a card which said it had an activity room for them between certain times, and a film and ice-cream, popcorn, we didn't make use of this though as we were late back and needed to get us dinner and the girls to bed. But that was a nice touch to add. Our room was okay, just lacked on being to a high cleaning standard. The bathroom floor had dirty marks, and the grout on the tiles. Taps were dirty and they hadn't cleaned throughly just where the eye can see. Pipe work was covered thick with dust. I didn't like that the body wash, shampoo you couldn't move. Its okay if you wanted a shower but I had a bath and couldn't move the wash bottle down. Also small children couldn't reach for the soap to wash hands as screwed high to the wall. The bath was very low to the floor and very shallow. The room was noisy and we were in one of the rooms that faced out to the main road, busy traffic and shouting about from drunk people. We only had 1 pillow each, no other pillows provided. They did phone to our room when we left my babies spoon at dinner. Which was nice of them. The food in the restaurant was over priced. £16 for a small lasagne that tasted warmed up. Breakfast I had a hair in my food, sausages undercooked and I was put off. …
My husband and I stayed at the Jury’s Inn Southampton recently. We were really pleased with the service from the member of staff we spoke to at the front desk who was so friendly, kind and helpful. We needed a room at the last minute very late at night as our other accommodation fell through, and the staff member went above and beyond to help and got us sorted and booked in. The room we were given was vast, with two double beds, a huge bathroom and ample floor space. There was a desk with tea and coffee facilities, two huge mirrors, a comfy chair and extra towels, bedding, an iron and ironing board and more. We were really impressed, and everything was suitably clean. The one thing that we would note as a downside is that the air con in the room was quite poor, which was tricky as the city can get very hot in the summer. However, I would definitely recommend this hotel!…
I score my 10 night visit 1/5 stars. This is a far cry from a 4 star hotel - Room was dirty. Particularly the carpet - Trying to get new towels was hard. Several asks over 2 full days. It took a friend to really push staff in the end - I left my card on door to clean room for days and it went undone - Asked for bin to be emptied for 2 full days. It took a friend to really push staff in the end - Bathroom was just ok. Very basically decorated for a wet room in a supposed 4 star hotel - I asked for push pedal bin in bathroom to be replaced with waste paper style as I am a wheelchair user. It was never replaced my whole 10 nights stay Very well situated hotel for a wheelchair user visiting Southampton but I will not be using this hotel again
Booked a short break with my two daughters as part of a Paultons Park deal and separately an additional night to watch NIvEng at the ladies Euros. Staff helpfully and without fuss linked the bookings so we didn't have to check out and in again. My girls had a great time and the three of us had a comfortable stay in a family room. Staff were all very friendly and breakfasts were excellent.
