Arrived to a busy check in area with one staff member clearly overwhelmed by it all, finally got our key and proceeded to our room and opened the door to find it already occupied with the people " relaxing" on the bed!! they were as shocked as we were, we made our apologies and quickly returned to the very much overworked staff member, who apologized and gave us another room -eventually, and there were no more surprises.
Lovely stay here. Very clean everywhere and a very spacious room lovely comfortable bed and a really tasty well cooked breakfast such good value for money. The bar area very nice and relaxing. The staff are the nicest and most helpful I have ever met at a hotel
First off we had a very positive stay at Premier Inn. "Amazing Amanda" helped us to find everything we needed to make our stay successful. Matt behind the bar was outstanding at serving up drinks. This hotel has everything you need pre-cruise. There is a tiny market less than a block from the front door of the hotel. There is also a shopping mall liberally right across the street. The hotel even provides a phone by the elevators that is a direct dial to order a taxi cab. Which we used to get to the cruise for about 6 pounds. We enjoyed breakfast. There was the correct number of staff working in a very busy breakfast area. We were ably to get breakfast with no problems. The food was typical breakfast buffet food.
We spent 2 nights at this hotel whilst visiting Peppa pig World with 2 young kids and 2 adults. Parking- none on site but there is hotel parking for the Moxy hotel which is next to Premier Inn, you can drop off here but must no exceed 10 minutes otherwise you will receive a fine. There is a multi storey car park close but stick to the left lane, zone c. We parked on level 2c which had a exit that led to the reception. You will need to go down 4 steps and walk over (this leads you back to the drop off car park). £5 per day. Staff- Found them to be really friendly. Room- Smaller than usual family room. We had 1 double bed and a single and sofa bed. The room was also very dusty. I usual ignore these things as I never want to complain about housekeeping ( I have heard stories when customers complain). Anywho the sofa bed was the most uncomfortable, was so hard. As a result 3 of us slept in the double bed and anyone with kids knows this is not a comfortable sleep. The next morning we mentioned this to a member of staff, she apologied and assured me someone would come by and put extra padding on the bed. We left to go to the park around 9:30am and returned around after 4pm. Now we were shattered !! Second day at the park in the heat from morning, just imagine. Everyone was just looking forward to sleeping. To my surprise the bed was the same no padding. We called reception but no answer. My husband ended up sleeping on it to keep the peace! He then complained to me the following morning of lack of sleep due to discomfort! Breakfast- Normal buffet style breakfast. However, they need to maintain better cleanliness of the high chairs. The straps were really filthy, I ended up not using them. I have stayed at several Premier inns and I wish there was consistency in the quality. I doubt I will stay at this hotel again purely because of the discomfort of the sofa bed. I…
Well located with plenty of parking (£5 / 24 hrs) by the shopping centre and Ikea. Very helpful and available reception staff, very welcoming. Room was fine, air con very cool, no problems at all. Restaurant as expected but don't expect to see many vegetables- salads though. Good for a couple of nights or perhaps pre/post cruise? Recommended.
Handy location for port, ok facilities but staff are not welcoming at all and very rude/abrupt to deal with. Not a good experience. Both at checkin and breakfast reception we were met with aggression and a "cant be bothered with you" attitude.
Had a wonderful 3 night stay, was told at check in that they only clean rooms at our request which was fine if we needed anything we would just ask, all staff very friendly and lovely breakfast, air conditioning in room very good the only thing that was a let down was how poor the free wi-fi was.
Arrived at hotel to be told I can’t park in car park but needed to park in the local shopping mall. Fortunately only next door and a fiver overnight. Staff are really friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t normally write a review, as most people know what they are getting at these hotels, however great service in bar/restaurant and check in. Pleasantly surprised, thank you!
The Premier Inn is a 3-minute walk to Old Town Southampton. It is a neat spot to walk around and see the old wall and buildings. There is a huge Shopping Mall right next door and Ikea is around the corner. Lots of things close by. Also a $7 taxi ride from the cruise ship port.
There were 2 chairs in the room that had stains. Wanted to warm the room up but thermostat range was limited. Warmed up at night. Dead fly and live silverfish in my bed the second night (after cleaners cleaned my room). This made me cringe. Could not make staff aware as no one was there when I checked out.
