We stayed at the West Quay hotel for four days and loved it. We were checked in quickly and given a room on the first floor. The room was very clean and spacious & had everything we needed.
The on site restaurant and bar “the Social” was good and open throughout the day. Good value deals and the lunch time deal in particular was well worth it.
Housekeeping were good and serviced our room on day 3 as requested. A big thanks to them all as they do a great job. Handy to know that you can simply go and pick up an iron and ironing board from the reception area without bugging a member of staff for it.

Having read the positive reviews about this Premier Inn we decided to stay 1 night before a cruise and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is ideally situated for West Quay shopping centre as well as all the restaurants in this area and the cruise terminals' so it's very handy.
Check-in is from 15:00 and you can pay a ÂŁ10pp supplement to check-in early. We were flying from Scotland so chose a later flight and arrived about 16:30. We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman who very quickly checked us and asked us if we had pre-booked breakfast which we had.
Our room was on the 2nd floor and we were surprised by how spacious it was, large enough to leave both (large) suitcases open. The room was clean, standard hotel bathroom with a shower over the bath however climbing out of the bath after a shower may be problamatic to someone who isn't steady on their feet as the bath was quite high and there was no slip mat for the bath, towels were large and fluffy. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and we had a good nights sleep, definately no complaints there.
There was a welcome tray with a kettle, tea and coffee and the only issue I had with the room was that there wasn't a safe, that's why I've rated the hotel as very good.
We didn't have dinner in the hotel so can't comment on what was on offer but we did have a couple of drinks in the small bar which was a bit drab and could do with a bit of a spruce up.
Like most hotels breakfast was a buffet with the same complaint that the food doesn't stay hot, usual choices on offer, bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc., not worth the ÂŁ9.50 in my opinion but it was convenient.
The staff were friendly and helpful and overall, the price was good and we had a good nights sleep so we would defintely book a room here again.

woken up at 3.45am by sound of petrol engine jetwasher cleaning the steps of westquay shopping centre. This went on for over 90 minutes. If you stay here, insist on a room overlooking the carpark instead, as the road can be noisy - mainly lorries which can be noisy & also bins being emptied from West Quay shopping centre. The windows soundproofing is not really adequate.

Lovely clean and comfortable stay. Was abit chaotic upon arrival. We was able to get an early check-in, but they mentioned the ÂŁ10 fee after we agreed to having an early room.
I was also emailed several times to inform me of a complimentary breakfast due to the restaurant being closed. The restaurant happen to open the day of our arrival, which was very misleading. When you give someone something complimentary you can't just take it back, because you decided to open the restaurant early. That was very unfair and on top of the ÂŁ10 fee, we then had to pay ÂŁ17.98 for continental breakfast, which was awful. The pastries were stale the selection was poor it was not worth so much money. I won't get breakfast here again.
Also the Premier Inn website gave me parking instructions for Harbour Parade Carpark, so that's where I went. It was not ÂŁ6 for 24-hours, it was ÂŁ10.50 for 23-hours. Staff told me I could have gone to the multistory for ÂŁ7 for a 24-hour stay, but when I checked there website it said it closes overnight? So parking was confusing and there's alot of misinformation on prices/hours etc?

This is the nearest Premier Inn to the cruise terminals in Southampton. Compared to some of the others in close proximity it’s also one of the best value.
It’s a fairly modern building and is situated right next to the vast West Quay shopping centre. The high street is a 5 minute walk away. It’s a little too far to walk to the cruise terminals so a taxi is the best option, though these can get busy when there are a few ships docked. It has the usual in house restaurant (Thyme) with meal deal offers but there is a vast amount of places to eat very close by and we preferred to spend our money in an independent restaurant.
The room is the usual Premier Inn style. A reasonable size, ours had a king size bed and a sofa bed. The tv was quite large and has hundreds of free channels. Don’t expect any sea views from this hotel as it is in the city centre so you re going to be facing concrete building. Our room was quiet and we had a good nights sleep here.
Our room had a bath with overhead shower so if you have restricted mobility it would be best to request a shower.
Check in was quick and friendly and check out just requires you to drop your card in a box. There are two lifts controlled using your key card but these can get busy mid morning when all the cruise passengers start to leave with all their luggage.
We’ve cruised from Southampton a lot and have experienced a lot of pre cruise hotels. There is a little snobbery about some of them, including the pyramid shaped one opposite, but that snobbish approach will probably leave you paying double the cost of the Premier Inn. This is clean, modern, everything worked with friendly staff in a great location. Recommended.

Booked this hotel as a pre trip as staying here overnight in August before a cruise and wanted to find out rough location etc. It was clean comfortable and the staff were great. Location to cruise terminal and shopping centre were perfect..basically 10 min walk to either. Large multi storey car park next door ÂŁ6 for 24 hours which is very reasonable. Glad we did this and looking forward to staying again in August.

Rang a few times to request interconnecting rooms. 3rd time I rang they said we have a twin(I think it was) room and family room so couldn't be interconnecting (even though booking said family rooms) had to request they be changed to two family rooms.
Got there and we're pleased to see they were interconnecting but then had to trapse back to reception to ask for the internal door to be unlocked.
We were absolutely disgusted to find human faeces on the underside of the toilet tissue holder. Reception were very apologetic and did clean it but it did make me concerned how well the rest of it had been cleaned. I think the cleaning staff need to hold themselves to a higher standard (although I appreciate that the person who left the poo were utterly disgusting)
Staff were very friendly and helpful but I was really put off my the cleaning standards.

We have stayed in this Premier Inn previously with no issues however on our weekend stay last week we noticed a big difference.
The hotel is now looking tired. The lifts keep breaking and creak and one family got stuck in one of them. The WIFI is horrendous and although we had paid for ultimate a lot of the time we couldn’t get it. Apparently they know about it but nothing they can do as outsourced to Virgin. Had trouble moving rooms so that it would work.
Staff on this particular weekend weren’t very helpful. TV didn’t work and took along time for it to be looked at.
We have stayed in over 15 different premier inns and this has to be the worst. Only good side is the location.

I have stayed at many Premier Inns and the staff here are some of the most friendly I have experienced, especially the young lady with long blonde hair. I appreciate they are working under difficult circumstances themselves but do not book to stay here until the works are completed at the end of September. The windows are covered in a privacy film to stop workman looking in. Furthermore the whole outside is covered whilst it’s being worked on so the room is dark and claustrophobic. Whilst that is manageable waking up at 8.30am two mornings running with drilling, scraping and banging right outside the window is beyond crazy. The noise is actually unbearable if they are working near your room. Unfortunately the workman on the second day enjoyed chatting/shouting loudly about life in general outside my window. They work from 8.30am to 6 so do not expect a peaceful time unless you are lucky enough to get a room where they are not working. After getting up and going to reception I was moved by an approachable member of staff but I was not enamoured at having to make three trips moving my stuff when I just wanted to sleep. Staff are fab, food was of a good standard, rooms lovely and clean so book but just not until October 2023.

There is a free-phone taxi service from this hotel to the port. It’s walkable but taxi is far easier when you have luggage with you. Don’t leave it to the last minute before booking it though. They can get very busy on cruise days.
