I stayed here for 1 night whilst my mum was in Southampton hospital. Checked in quite late in the evening but was welcomed by a very friendly guy on reception. The room was very clean and had everything I needed, shower pressure wasn't the best but I always find it never is in hotels. Buffet breakfast was lovely and catered...

Just a few minutes walk from the university, which was the reason for our stop over in Southampton. Hotel was clean, tidy & ideal for our needs, not modern, contemporary or posh, but better than similarly priced alternatives. Staff were attentive, polite & helpful. Breakfast was very good in choice & quality. Free Parking too !! Only downside is wifi,...

We stayed for one night while seeing a gig at the nearby Brook. A welcoming reception and a very clean hotel. Room was comfortable and warm, bit of an issue with the shower, water going everywhere due to bits being taped up. Breakfast was good quality and lots of attentive staff. Will use again.

We booked an overnight awaiting a transatlantic cruise on Cunard the following afternoon. When we arrived at the airport in Southampton none of our luggage was on the plane. The staff at Highfield House were so helpful in making (and receiving) phone calls for us, in suggesting where we could quickly shop to replace certain missing items, and even helped...

I arrived late and the evening porter was very welcoming and helpful. The interior & decor are a little tired and there are lots of stairs and hall ways to negotiate to get around. The room was comfy but not plush. I couldn't get the TV to work ( it was late so didn't bother to go back to ask...

The rooms are good, with decent beds & showers. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the included breakfasts are fantastic. However, the internet is extremely poor. Download speeds average about 2Mbs, but often dip as low as 0.1Mbs, and often cut out for several seconds at a time. Gaming, streaming, and skype are all impossible. An ideal place to stay...

we didn't actually stay at the hotel because when we arrived to check in, there was no record of our booking and the hotel was full. the hotel accepted full responsibility for the mess up, booked us into a similar hotel at similar cost by the airport with whom they obviously have an arrangement. they booked taxis for us to...

We were booked to stay here on Wednesday night but they had lost our booking and were fully booked! They admitted it was their fault and not the on line agency we used. The real test is what happens when something goes wrong, they found us alternative accommodation, not as convenient but of similar standard. Paid for a taxi to...

Excellent breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff. We stayed during the Christmas period and they left a teddy bear on our bed - a nice touch. The hotel is close to shops and restaurants. The only down side was that the bath towels were a bit small.

This had what's required for a business trip. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. Close to amenities and main transport. Plus a very nice cooked breakfast with proper coffee. Would stay again.
