If you are fed up with the modern block hotels and are looking for something a bit special try this one. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and warm when we went in. Food was good value and excellent. When I stay again I will have the Lasagne without the chips, far too big for me....

There are a few negatives if you want to be pedantic but they are purely down to this being an old building. Stairs are awkward if you have a big case. Single glazing so road noise. (However we were at the front and it wasn't as bad as some reviews claim.) My overall impression is of a well managed, well...

We stayed at this lovely hotel for one evening following SFC cup final last Sunday. The hospitality, facilities and room were perfect for us and I think represented outstanding VFM. The owner and staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We will certainly return when we want to stay in Southampton. Why stay at a Travel-lodge when you can...

I was stuck in Southampton overnight due to flight delays and this hotel was arranged for me. I am glad I wasn't paying! The place is a labyrinth of corridors and stairs where rooms have been fitted into an old building layout. Carrying a heavy case was really awkward. The double room was barely big enough for the bed. It...

A lovely old house with a restaurant and Bar. Stairs to climb for those that can. Bar down stairs below street level. Restaurant was good with good meals and service. Very close to city shops and restaurants and entertainment. Within walking distance to the city centre or buses run quite frequently.

Very clean, comfortable hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were given a family room which was huge. The beds were comfortable and clean. The shower was very powerful and lots of towels provided. Lovely breakfast. Full English and choice of fish which was lovely.

We recently spent the night at the Elizabeth House Hotel as we had an early appointment the following morning at the University. The lady on reception on arrival and departure was lovely-friendly, warm and helpful. Plenty of free parking which is always useful, our family room was clean and well decorated and it was evident that the bathroom had been...

I arrived at the Elizabeth House in my car and easily found a car parking space at the rear of the property. After registering with the reception which was very easy and pleasant, I was given the key to my first floor room. There was a very comfortable double bed, a TV, desk/dressing table, Tea/Coffee facilities, and best of all...

This hotel has a warm atmosphere, clearly run by a family committed to offering a good stay experience. The dowdy reception area belies the much more considered decor beyond. I had an immaculate and comfortable room and bed with modern and heated bathroom (mine had a long bath, so there's choice). Nice white linen and towels. Excellent breakfast (and good...

Comfortable nice bed ,but our room would benefit from some double or secondary glazing to reduce noise and cold out. The owners and staff were excellent. The bath was not a large one but the shower was ok. Overall this hotel is very handy for Southampton and easy to get to .
