Unfortunately the hotel is dated, needs updating desperately. TV in the room is small and hard to view from the sofa/bed. Toilet is seperate from the bathroom, just feels horrible. Pool looks inviting but is very small, has a maximum 12 people allowed in and during my visit the 12 people were children, so didn't bother. Not a great experience and wouldn't book again.

When booking, I was looking for a reasonably priced x2 night stay for 2 adults and 2 children. This at the time was cheaper than Premier Inn and Ibis. At 8 and 14 years it isn't ideal sharing a room, but we wanted to keep costs down. However we had a great stay. We got a free upgrade as a Accord member and room was a great size. Toilet seperate from bathroom and great coffee machine and fridge. Lovely body lotions and showering products too. Room dated but clean and staff were lovely. Used the pool at 7am and was quiet. Was very busy later in the day. Went to Ikea for brekky. There wrre x2 big weddings on both nights but rooms very quiet. Would stay again.

I had a wonderful time at the novotel in Southampton. The staff were lovely especially Chin in the restaurant, she was exceptional and a worthy asset to the team. And the young man behind the bar, great recommendation on the cheesecake.

The restaurant in the hotel is the worse,I’ve been ever.First we went there for a dinner, and It was very bad. The restaurant wasn’t open at 6pm, even if it said it’s opening at 6pm. We felt like trespassers, for wanting to sit, eat and pay. The stuffed chicken smelled off and we said this to the waiter, but nothing was done.Three was No music at all, so no ambience, it felt like in a canteen. We then went for breakfast in the morning, as it was in our package, that was even worse then dinner. The breakfast was cleared at 9;55am, when we arrived and staff was very rude, showing how annoyed they were about the fact, that we went, dispite we paid for our breakfast as part of the deal. The older waiter was literally clearing the counters, while we were picking up our breakfasts and was very rude, when the kids asked for extra juice. They started hoovering the floor around us, as we just sat down and started eating! I was shocked. It’s a real shame, as the hotel was nice. The only down side of the hotel was the very uncomfortable sofa bed. I’ll think twice before I book again in Novotel.

The manager reprimanded his staff loudly in front of customers, including my family. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere, and it was embarrassing for us to see . There was no issue with the food we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We will not be returning at all.

Vey clean, modern hotel. The room was very clean and spacious. There was Christmas parties on and we expected to hear people leaving, we didn’t hear a thing! Staff are pleasant and very helpful. The food was absolutely lovely (especially the fish & chips). Breakfast had plenty of choices available, from cooked full English to continental and pancakes. Thank you for a great stay.

Very small rooms with barely any space to put suitcases. The shower leaked all over the floor, no exhaust fans in bathroom. We were meant to have had the sofa made for us but when we arrived it wasn’t done, the staff told us that we will have to make the bed ourselves but a person in our party disagreed and finally got them to make the bed. Parking is easy and plentiful. The breakfast buffet was ok. There was only 1 staff member who appeared happy and helpful. All the others looked like they didn’t want to be there. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Stayed here with my husband for a break before going to a show in Southampton. A little nervous reading the reviews however the hotel was wonderful. The lady on reception, who is Asian is wonderful. Her service to us was brilliant and she guided us on best things to do and see. Rooms are a little dated, however they have been well maintained. Thank you for a great stay!

room ok but there was a party on in the hotel and the music was and still is thumping up to the fourth floor after 2300 hours. If i had wanted a bass soundtrack to my sleep i would have booked above a nightclub . Completely unacceptable. Would not recommend to anyone staying here , plenty of other hotels in the area.
