We stayed here on a Friday night, was a little apprehensive that being so close to the main strip of bars and clubs and also being located on a main road it would be really noisy. But surprisingly it wasn’t at all it felt as if you were the only people in the hotel at night as you couldn’t hear anyone in the corridor, there was no noise from the room above and the windows kept out all traffic noise. The staff were friendly and efficient, overall it was a very pleasant stay.
Very easy to find it's an ideal location for Mayflower threatre with a large multi story behind that's locked overnight. Staff were very polite and room was warm but not over which was nice. Clean quite and a pleasurable stay. Would use again.
Enjoyable stay here with the family (3 rooms/12 people). Nice relaxing hotel in a good location. Just a shame the pricing policy isn’t more consistent as the room prices varied a lot for the 3 rooms despite them being identical and just booked a few days apart
The rooms were modern, nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Kids were wowed by the LED lights on the headboard of the bed. Very happy with the hotel and the service. Parked car at grosvenor square car park just behind the building. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return to premier inn again.
Have used Cumberland Place before and really enjoyed our stay, This time I booked 5 rooms for our family, pre cruise stay. Everything was brilliant, car parking good, just a couple of minutes away, great food, and easy to walk into town. Great service allround, booked again in November
Never ever reviewed on Trip Advisor before - ”lbecause we’re in the hospitality industry and it’s often drunken offensive customers who want “something for nothing” who threaten a bad review. I’m so sorry to have to report that we’ve had a bad experience here. Very bad! I feel so sorry for the few staff who are trying their very best to cope with Premier Inn’s policy to obviously overbook, not order enough food in for the numbers eating (and having pre-booked this hotel 6 months ago and my granddaughter’s 7th birthday party) to be told that there was no chicken, no pizza, no salmon, no peas no vegan option! When the meal did arrive (after a long wait) garlic bread with no garlic, nachos with no sour cream or cheese and the nachos all stuck together and burnt. At this point we complained and a lovely lady called Jemima - Duty Manager - appreciated that things were less than satisfactory. Jemima is an asset to this hotel, but after her experience of having to deal with not just our complaints but numerous others I’m sure you’re going to lose her. I appreciate this is a difficult time for the hospitality industry but if you can’t cope with the number of people booked in you have to save your reputation by saying there is no food available. We all drove over 5 hours to get here and yes arrived very early before our rooms were available. Rooms aren’t available until 3pm which is completely understandable - but then several family members were told their rooms wouldn’t be ready for another few hours after that. Going back to our food the majority of main courses were sent back - cold, steak tasting like liver, mushrooms raw no side orders being delivered. The duty manager took a photo of all the food being left. We’re all going through a difficult time but this experience makes us feel ripped off and part of a cattle market.…
The room was very hot inside and the aircon couldn’t be lowered there was no functioning window in my room, I asked staff for help and they just directed me to the website to make a complaint. No knowledge of me asking for a room change. Staff was not trained properly for help or guidance
The hotel was well situated, was very efficiently staffed and friendly. Even though it was on a main road the rooms were quiet and of good cleanliness. Just be aware that if you are not keen on dogs (as some of my family are not) they had a security firm with a dog that was in the hotel and maybe in the rooms, that was not mentioned to us and we only found out when he was standing outside the door and my husband was in the room.
This Premier Inn is in a perfect location for us. Good comfy bed, excellent service, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast - thank you chef! We are regular visitors to Southampton and this hotel and if they can, they will try and give us the room we request. When you can book far enough in advance, you can usually get a very good rate. Multi storey Car park is behind the hotel, and we have never had no problem getting a space. Gives us piece of mind that it is locked at night time.
Couldn’t ask for a better stay Hotel was situated in prime location very close to shops and theatre all in walking distance would definitely go back at some point x staff friendly comfortable rooms all with air conditioning
