Booked to stay here as a change to the usual hotel, hoping it would be better, given the increase in price. Room was okay, it had everything we needed for a family of 4 (young kids), although both were in the same sofa bed (not 2 separates). Not really a family room, just a room with a double sofa bed....

The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the Historic Dockyard (Victory, Warrior, Mary Rose etc) in Gunwharf Quays, a plaza which has a plethora of places to eat, mainly chains. In many, showing your hotel card key gives you a discount, commonly 20%. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, with tea making facilities (without biscuits). The bathroom...

Recently refurbed public areas with much improved breakfast - the build your own bap take away idea is great for when you are in a rush to get going. Another great thing is that the staff as usual offer 5 star service - stayed here many times when on business, most recently in April '17 and it wont be the...

The location of this property is great if you are in and around the Gunwharf area. First off, the rooms aren't that clean, and very basic. All along the corridors there is mismatched paint, chunks missing- it needs urgent refurbishing. The cleaning staff need better training, on 2 occasions they let themselves into my room without knocking or announcing themselves....

This is not the first time I stayed here. This trip we were there for a few days. I generally avoid the big chain hotels but the prime location of this place is wonderful. It is 200 yards from the train station and perhaps 300 yards from the huge historic dockyards museums. It is in the middle of a very...

Well what can I say. The staff from start to finish are amazing, polite and can't do enough. I arrived this evening on a business trip for 2 days with Portsmouth University. We checked into the room and the carpets were not very clean. The hotel is in a great location and is very quiet. Bars and restaurants outside which...

Stayed here mid week. Excellent location and only a couple of minutes walk from the car park. Staff very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. Also, reception validated the car park ticket so we parked for 23 hours at no cost instead of the expected £20 which was a welcome surprise. Breakfast was great, especially the sausages! Would recommend and...

This hotel is an excellent spot for a vacation. It is close to everything. Shopping, dining, sightseeing. Great restaurants of every sort - Italian, French, English and American. Also includes a great breakfast. It is a jumping off spot for a day trip to Isle of Wight.

Staff at reception delightfully helpful...super location. But imperfection in hotel designed details...e.g. weekend shoppers full car park means enforced delayed arrival, Southsea Prom over lingering, until post 5.00p.m. Amusing "elevator" calling and up/down uncertainty, spectacular overcrowded breakfarce chaotic feeding frenzy w food and implements provision uncertainty, endlessly long corridors and noisy morning exterior loading bay for odd number rooms (close...

Dear BobTFleet, Thank you for your review of the hotel. When it is very busy at the weekends, especially bank holidays, the Gunwharf Quays car park does get very busy. We do have a great discount with the car park so you get free parking for 24 hours, and then £2 per day after that. It is normally £20 per...
