Room 2 on second floor suited me very well . Room and bathroom spacious , provision of a fan was much appreciated on a warm night . Quiet , overlooking a side street . Good for a post-supper stroll around the harbour area

A super hotel in a pub, teamed with very happy and friendly staff and customers. Lovely big room and a fantastic location to have our evening at HMS Victory. A great English breakfast too and car park opposite. Really nice stay and super staff, thank you.

Great hotel and excellent choice if you are staying in Portsmouth Harbour. Staff are lovely and I felt as if I was staying at my “home away from home”. (If anybody sees this say Hi to Tracy in the bar from the old lady from Mexico). I stayed in a single room which was more than adequate, clean and with...

The experience at check in couldn't have been better, with the staff very friendly and welcoming even though we arrived a little before the advertised check in time. Our room was very nice: a good size, clean, good facilities, and, although of course you are above a pub, there were no problems with noise. The biggest draw about the George,...

We were visiting Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard and The George Hotel is ideally located less than 5 minutes walk from the Dockyard and its many wonderful museums. It is a very clean and comfortable hotel in an interesting C18 building. The staff could not be more pleasant and helpful and a special mention goes to Jason the chef who is a...

The food is very good and reasonable, good wine list and comfortable rooms. Lovely staff. All in all a lovely small hotel/inn. There is a huge multistorey car park virtually opposite - all so convenient and a short walk to Gunwharf keys shoppiong centre.

...from this excellent pub/small hotel. The welcome and service continue to be outstanding, whilst the food offered remains first rate. The steak and kidney pudding is one of the very best! Long may this pub thrive!

This is a lovely pub/hotel near the dockyards, The food, both breakfast(which is included) and dinner was very good and the latter reasonable. One night they didn't serve dinner as it was a Sunday but there was a good pub a block away. The owner was helpful and very friendly. The room was clean and had all we needed, plus...

I'm really not happy to give these guys a bad rating but being completely forgotten about in the morning wasn't great, especially right before a full day sea survival and a week of sailing. Spent a night here 2 week ago, as I had my sea survival course and training week starting the next morning. First impression was nice, it...

Dear Antonia We have taken some of your comments on board and discussed it with the relevant staff that worked on the day. I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. When you made your reservation we did inform you that breakfast was not served until 8am on the Saturday morning. On check in you were charged...

Excellent small Hotel and Pub. Well appointed and clean rooms, very friendly staff and the meals were freshly cooked and delicious. Excellent Chicken Curry and Sea bass cooked by the friendly chef, plus yummy apple pie and custard. I've been to some 'posh' hotels recently that failed these basics on all counts. The rooms are airy and with a large...
