All you need at a very reasonable rate! This pleasant guest house is situated in a nice quiet area of Southsea, off the front. My room was clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee and a TV. Breakfast was very nice, and the home made jams, excellent! Possibly the finest thing, is the quiet. Not a knock or the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay mainly because we had such a nice stay at St Margaret's Lodge. The room was spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable. Sheets were white and crisp. Bathroom was lovely. The breakfasts were amazing with home-made jams by Daniel the owner and breakfast maker. Daniel was informative and friendly and very obliging. Free Wi-fi. This place... More

Cosy room with everything I needed; superb breakfasts; staff very pleasant; on a direct bus service to/from Portsmouth Harbour & also walkable from Fratton Station; quiet location, but close to sea front; absolutely value for money. If & when I next visit Portsmouth (hopefully next year) I very much hope to stay here again.

We have stayed at this small hotel five or six times over recent years for short stays and our most recent stop- March 2016 - has confirmed our earlier views. It deserves a recommendation for its convenience, comfort and cleanliness, providing a very enjoyable breakfast and helpful service. A short walk to the seafront and bus routes.

Recently spent a few nights at St.Margarets and a very pleasurable experience it was. I stayed in a single en suite room which was spotlessly clean and quite spacious with a very comfortable bed. The full English breakfasts were excellent complete with very nice home made jams, and the meal was available from 07.15 on weekdays making it very useful... More

St. Margaret's Lodge is well located in a quiet road, close to the sea and local facilities and not too far to the centre. A pleasant, convenient and comfortable place to stay. The bedroom was a bit old fashioned whereas the en-suite was fantastic.Breakfast was OK. Good venue for a short stay. Recommended.
