We spent two beautiful nights there the first week of our trip. We felt like home with friendly hosts. Located in a very peacefull and charming countryside, perfect for couples and families with children. Very recommendable if you need to disconnect from your ordinary lifes.

Thanks to Liz and Graham for being such lovely and helpful hosts. Room was lovely and clean with a bookcase full of different and interesting books. There was a large mirrored wardrobe (fully fitted with sliding doors), tv with freeview and free wifi. Tea and coffee facilities were in the room and fresh milk provided. There were also lots of brochures for local attractions and bus timetables provided. My partner and I had a private bathroom with a corner spa bath (which was amazing) and amazing views from the bathroom window. We had a choice of breakfast (very tasty) and were served in a lovely dining room with a real cosy family feel to it. We stayed mid December and Liz and Graham had the place all cosy and festive. We would have loved to have stayed longer but unfortunately was only a short break. All in all a lovely place to stay with warm and welcoming hosts.

I've spent one night at Yew Tree which was pleasant and comfortable, it felt like home, excellent value for money. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, offered a lift from Stroud, and have given lots of information about activities in the area. The views from the house are stunning, location is serene yet not too remote. The breakfast was great, the room/bathroom was very clean, tidy and stylishly furnished. I would definitely go back again!

We stayed in the "cottage" for a week. Good points: The views are wonderful and it's beautifully appointed inside with everything you need. Very good bed & quality sheets for a touch of luxury. Tv in lounge room & another in bedroom downstairs. Conservatory with views. Washing machine. Coffee plunger!
Negatives: it's not a cottage - it's a split level apartment with private entrance. Owner lives above. The building has no frontage & parking is in a tiny space across the busy road ...nerve-wracking to reverse the hire car into it. For these 2 reasons alone I wouldn't have booked this property at all and was quite disappointed with location. The fridge was down a spiral staircase from the kitchen so annoying to have to go up and down especially with dodgy knees.
Location in Stroud is ok for day trips but think a more central location would have suited us better.

I was disappointed with this review. The Holiday Cottage was built in 1552 and our house added on in 1669. It is not an apartment. The full sized fridge/freezer is positioned away from the kitchen as there is more space for it where it is. It is very large! Our house is built on the side of a hill, this is the Cotswolds! It is fronted onto National Trust common land. Unfortunately I was in hospital suffering from a chemotherapy reaction but I understand my husband looked after these guests very well considering he was worried about me and visiting when he could

This is ok, if all you are looking for is a bed and you don't mind being woken up at 5.30am, when the husband gets up and starts rummaging in the kitchen directly below your bed. There's a horrible machine humming noise much of the time. The windows don't open and the room goes out onto the street with the most hideous view onto a nasty building and wall. In the room, there is nowhere to be other than in bed, which was quite a problem for me as I was there without a car and in the winter, expecting at least an armchair to sit and read. There is no privacy as the room is in the middle of the house and not only does the door have now lock, but it was wide open every time I returned! The bathroom door gets stuck and i was worried I wouldn't get out. The lady of the house, who only does the greeting, with the husband doing all the rest, mostly in complete silence, made a big fuss over what I wanted for breakfast, but then didn't actually have half of the things on her menu. Don't pay upfront, as she asked me to do and as I did in good faith, - which I really regretted as this turned out to be a total rip-off! I still have nightmares about it. The cornflakes have been in their huge jar for so long, they stink with staleness, the marmalade has gone off, and i have never had such a stingy portion of 6 of the tiniest mushrooms, weird hard sausages or cheap orange juice.

Stayed for 2 nights in the B&B, in a very comfortable room and private bathroom. They only have one room so you are the only guests, which was odd but also rather nice, avoiding any awkward morning hellos.
Breakfast was a very nice non oily full English, with fresh toast, juices and cereals. My husband had poached egg on toast one morning (just the one egg!) but I am sure they would have brought more if we had asked.
Graham was a very good host and gave us plenty of advice on what to do/where to go when we were here. All his recommendations were excellent, with walks along the canals, a fantastic Saturday market in Stroud, evening meals at the local pub (The Ship Inn) and at Stroud Brewery.
Parking could have been difficult, as it was on road but we always got a space.
Very reasonable prices and would happily stay here again in the future.

This little gem is located in an ideal place to get around and explore the Gloucestershire countryside.
The breakfasts in the B&B are to die for...all cooked by Graham who is a charming man and nothing is too much trouble for him and his lovely wife Liz who both our stay so memorable.

Contacted via email. Was promptly replied to by Liz and the booking was made easily.
I was warmly welcomed on the afternoon of my stay. The B&B forms part of their house, which is beautifully decorated and very clean.
The room was again very clean and tidy. The room had everything I needed. And was very attractively furnished, with good bathroom facilities.
After a very pleasant nights sleep I was greeted by one of the best full English breakfasts I've had, served in the dining room overlooking the beautiful valley adjacent to the house.
Really enjoyed my stay and will be booking again.

This is the second time I've stayed here and it's great. The owners are really friendly, the room is homely and spotlessly clean with cotton bed linen, and wardrobe hanging space, tea, coffee, a kettle and a TV. There's information provided on what to do in the area. The bathroom is also spotlessly clean with a good shower. Breakfast was good with pretty views across the valley and hills. The location is handy - just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Stroud or a few quid in a taxi if you come by train. I like it very much and will be staying here again in a few weeks.
