Detailed Reviews
Nicky and John were wonderful hosts, making us feel comfortable as if we were in our own home. We had a spacious and well equiped room, incredibly comfortable bed and an spectacular view from our window. A beautiful house in a beautiful village, with great walks and easy access to all that Stroud has to offer. We’re definitely coming back!

We arrived late in the evening, Nicky and John phoned us and told us that they were going out and the door would be open and we were to go straight in and make ourselves at home. The road up to the house was an experience, had my heart in my throat at least once. The room was comfortable and the bed was too. There was no on suite toilet, which I did miss, but the bathroom down one flight of stairs was really good and there is plenty of shower gels and bath smelly stuff to use. We stayed two nights and each morning had a different thing for breakfast. John was full of local information and helped us to find places to go and see and Nicky is a ceramic artist and both are so good at making us feel at home, talking to us, offering tea and coffee and generally looking after us. Really loved the garden and the views. Nicky and John made us feel relaxed and wanted in their home. Had an excellent break with them Highly reccommend the place to all.

We arrived late afternoon to very good directions though the steep track to the B&B can be tricky so if you're not a confident driver, park at the top of the track in the lay-by. Nicky and John made us very welcome and mentioned they have ONE rule - "If you need anything, just ask!".
The atmosphere is very homely - not spick and span, but just like being at home. The views were very good and the en-suite bedroom very comfortable. Breakfasts were cooked on the Aga and were very tasty and fresh.
Nicky was making her mosaic art when we arrived and was very happy to show us how she did it. It is a family home, more than a dedicated B&B and we just fitted in very nicely and were told we could come and go as we pleased. Very comfortable and likely we'll return next year.

After my first stay at Hillsdon. I now returned to participate in a cycling sportive which took place in cirencester. Nicky and John are very welcoming and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The quiet location and the comfy bed allowed me to have the good night sleep I needed for the challenging sportive.

We really enjoyed our stay. We wanted a place to get away for the weekend and relax and that is exactly what we got. Stunning views and great for cycling. They let us lock our bikes up in their shed and use their hose pipe to clean them.

I came upon Hillsdon B&B by chance, and it's such a lovely place, I will definitely be returning. Nicky and John are such welcoming, charming hosts, and I felt very relaxed and comfortable having breakfast in their lovely kitchen - a delicious breakfast as well - and talking with Nicky about my current divorce & custody status. My room was so comfortable, tidy and well presented. I had such a good night's sleep on the brilliantly sumptuous mattress, and my shower in the morning was heavenly. Situated on the doorstep of lovely countryside, the views and surroundings from their property are breathtaking. I am so thankful to have found somewhere as welcoming and lovely to stay and very much look forward to going back soon. Thanks, Justine :)

Nicky and John run this B&B from their home. We had a very comfortable stay. We had an ensuite room and another with a bathroom a few steps down. Breakfast was lovely and they were both available to give us handy tips for travel around the Cotswolds. They kindly allowed us into their kitchen to have our dinner. It was like home away from home, thank you!

My wife and I had an absolute wonderful time on our vacation here in this quaint house with warm and very friendly hosts in scenic Stroud. Fire place conversations, impressive art work and mosaic all around, yummy food, and fantastically cosy bed!

Hi, we are not within a short waling distance from Stroud. There is a local bus service just up the road but you would need a car if you were visiting the area to make the most of your stay.
