We met our friends here for lunch on a rainy BH. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the service friendly and the food was lovely but it's ridiculously pricey. We all had a small main (£9 for a scotch egg with a small salad?!), shared some sides, dessert each, 2 coffees and 4 drinks, it came to £140! It's a shame...

I was a little taken aback by the tight location of the place. Painswick the village, is built for smaller / no vehicles. However having said that it's a cosy welcoming and friendly hotel to stay in. Spacious rooms, very efficient and affable staff. Food good - though the dinner wasn't perfect, the breakfast was. Pillows a bit too big....

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, stunning location, beautiful interiors and incredible food. I'd return here in a heartbeat and it's more than worth the price. The bar is a really lovely feature, and Ricardo the bartender is brilliant and makes great cocktails (the Bloody Mary is a work of art). The homemade cookies in the room are a lovely touch and the...

Having just spent three nights in their sister hotel - Barnsley House, we thought it would be hard to top. The Painswick did not disappoint! Wonderful rooms, very good food and a very friendly and accommodating staff! We loved the town of Painswick. Very friendly people and a wonderful Anglican church around the corner.

This is a lovely hotel, where the staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The room was a good size with great views over the Slad Valley. The food was good, I would recommend the picnic: too much to eat and great quality. Our stay was one we will remember; the staff and the little touches made...

A two night stay was booked for us to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. From the moment we arrived until the morning we left there was absolutely nothing to complain about. We had been booked into the Suite which was magnificent, complete with log burner if needed. All the staff were fantastic, very welcoming without being intrusive. The food, decor...

This is a lovely hotel in a stunning location. The rooms are super comfy with everything you need (bathrobes, nespresso coffee, soft sheets, etc) and the views to die for. There's a lovely terrace for tea or drinks and several lounges inside. There are walking maps and they even supply welly boots and rain coats! The breakfast was fabulous -...
