Went for dinner with friends. Excellent food reasonably priced. Would recommend the ham hock as a starter with pork two ways as a main course. Service was good.three or four real ales on offer. Will definitely visit again in future

We have been here several times following a recommendation, but lately standards have really slipped. We went as a family for a birthday meal, and the person having the birthday ordered a chicken pie. There were a few pieces of meat swimming in an unappetising sauce, and the pastry was not nice. We were seated next to a very rowdy...

Around a dozen of us came for lunch and were well-fed from menu and specials board. There were pub standards like hamburgers, fish & chips and some nice specials like baked hake and vegetarian curries. Pricing was medium and the food was very good. Some very nice starters, too. Staff are pleasant and helpful, and there's a nice ambience about...

During a short break in Painswick we visited the Falcon twice. We enjoyed a good dinner and then returned on NYE for a dance to live music. The dinner menu was tasty, decent traditional food, I had a game pie and my wife had trout. The staff were friendly and service was fine, next time we might stay at the...

Took my parents to Painswick for lunch. Decided to have lunch at the Falcon. Sat at a table near the window was quickly asked to move as table reserved for 5 people, no reserve sign displayed. A couple subsequently sat at that table and where not moved like we were. This was annoying as my father is disabled and had...

Staying elsewhere in the locality but didn't fancy eating there. Falcon was recommended by a local person, it was the weekend so we booked. Staff, food, location and atmosphere were excellent - nothing was too much trouble and we booked for the following evening. Chatted to people who were staying there and the Accommodation and breakfast were just as good...

We usually really enjoy our meals at the Falcon but the last few times the meat has been fatty and the room has been cold as the radiators were not on. Also the service has been a bit slow. Shame because it is great location and a good menu.

I stayed here with my ushers and family before getting married in Painswick Church. The Falcon could not have been more comfortable or more helpful. The beds were brilliant, rooms beautifully decorated, the views over Painswick church and the Cotswolds are worthy of a film, and the breakfast (complete with Gloucestershire sausages) is the best I have had at a...

We spent a couple of days in Painswick as a last minute trip. We hadn't researched any places to eat or booked anywhere. The Falcon Inn was a stone's throw from where we were staying so we didn't have far to walk. We managed to get a table straight away next to the fire and front window which faces St...

We were a party of five who had pre-booked for lunch. Staff were great as usual and we placed our orders. First course was very good, followed by the main course where two of us had ordered the Dover Sole. Sadly the Dover was dry and completely ruined. It had obviously been cooked well beforehand and had probably been left...

The Falcon Inn sits opposite a quintessential English village church with its famous 99 clipped yew trees sitting in its grounds. The Falcon was first opened as a coaching inn in the 16th century and carries out the aims of the coaching inn to this day, the transport to it is just a little bit different.
