Very simle but cosy hotel. It was a nice experience. Don't expect more then simplicity with nice service in a very nice small town. Staff was very friendly. It's a small hotel very typical. Breakfast very simple. Wifi ok.

For some unknown reason the place we've stayed at before in Moreton in Marsh wanted 50% more for the same room this time, so we gave them a miss and tried The Bell instead. Not a bad choice by any means. Welcoming staff, a recently refurbished room, good beer in the pub and a good breakfast. Result! Didn't have our...

We would highly recommend The Bell Inn. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and the most comfiest beds! Breakfast was amazing too. Finlay was the star of the show :)

Lovely room, tasty food. Excellent free wi-fi. Really helpful and cheerful staff. Made our stay special. Tolkien visited the Bell Inn on his walks in the Cotswolds. It is widely recognised as the inspiration for "The Prancing Pony" at Bree in "The Lord of the Rings". There is a blue plaque outside, a large map of Middle-Earth on the wall,...

Visited here a few times , whilst staying at the Campsite nearby . Made to feel very welcome , very dog friendly , and food was great. My husband had chicken , which he said was excellent . Menu was slightly limited . Bar staff very chatty and friendly .

We ate at The Bell Inn last night. The pub felt warm and comfortable and despite being 'tourists' we felt completely at ease. The knowledgeable barman gave my fella good advice as to which pint to drink :). Food was great, can highly recommend the Mac and Cheese. The map of 'Middle Earth' and the Tolkien links, good food and...

The menu is limited but it tasted really good, showing that a limited menu done well beats an expansive menu done badly. The beer was local and the friendly barman advised me on what each was like. All the staff were friendly and helpful on a grey day.

Popped in today, fortunately only wanted a drink and that was fine but noted that there were vegetarian light bites but no vegetarian main course or special....such a shame. Could be a really good venue.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Considered by many to be Tolkeins inspiration for the "Prancing Pony" in Lord of the rings, the Bell Inn is a fine example of a traditional coaching Inn set in the historic Cotswolds. Having been taken over in June 2015, the pub and guest rooms are in safe hands and offer great service and quality accommodation. The pub offers meals a great selection of food, including lunches and evening meals which compliment the wide range of drinks including a selection of real ales. On a sunny day why not sit in the beer garden and soak up the sunshine in peaceful surroundings. ... more   less
